"I ordered through Grubhub and tried this place for the first time. I added the combo meat option to my vegetable rice and lo mien. That was a BIG mistake. Had I stayed clear of the boiled meat pieces I think I would have given more stars. OMG, the mystery meat slices were disgusting...large slices of undercooked, slimy, rubbery something. I think it might have been boiled pork??? The little chicken pieces had a weird texture. Some of them seemed undercooked as well. The shrimp was okay, probably because boiled shrimp is an acceptable way to cook it.The rice was a beautiful bright yellow color but that does not make the rice fried rice. That makes the rice cooked with yellow food coloring. Correct me if I 'm wrong. Typically, fried rice is fried with egg and veggies and protein options of choice. What I got was NOT real fried rice. No egg was to be found in the mix. I could have saved by making a box of Rice-A-Roni, throwing frozen peas and carrots in it, and adding a scrambled egg.The egg rolls were awesome and everything arrived hot so that was a plus. After plucking out the mystery meat and weird chicken pieces, the noodles and rice were okay. The additional cost of adding the protein was a total waste of money.Sorry Taste of Orient. I was really hoping you would have become my go-to carryout joint for fried rice and noodle dishes. I might get some egg rolls from you in the future but I 'll need some distance before flirting with that idea. This actually makes me kind of sad."

"The portions at this restaurant are substantial—I was able to make three meals out of one order! I had the chicken hibachi meal, which came out hot and was quite filling. I only had to wait a few minutes, which was great. The service is decent, though they can get busy with other orders at times. Keep in mind that it's takeout only, unless you want to awkwardly sit in one of the few chairs they have without a table while you wait! I would definitely dine here again; it’s not my first visit, but it's been a while. Initially, I was concerned about the chicken being covered in sauce, fearing it would be the sweet teriyaki kind, but I was pleasantly surprised as it wasn't sweet at all, which I prefer. However, the yum yum sauce tasted a bit watered down and lacked flavor. Overall, it’s worth the $10. **Update after my second visit:** Well, it seems that portion sizes can vary depending on who's working or the time of day. I stopped by around 8 PM, and my chicken portion was barely there, nowhere near what I received on my last visit. I called to let them know, and the person on the phone apologized, explaining that it sometimes happens. I just said it was fine and hung up—at least now they know! I understand it's not as simple as counting nuggets, but there should be a reasonable standard for how much of each item is served, right? I definitely missed a generous scoop of chicken this time, and I'm feeling disappointed. I may look for other places to try until I get over this experience, because the food really is good."
