"Wow. What an unexpected surprise in an unexpected place. I've never been blown away from a place in Arizona until I tried Tommy's Place. The atmosphere is super cool, trendy, artsy and interesting. Tommy (the owner) grieves Craig's list for interesting elements on the walls he does with such a style. From Vespas, to umbrellas, to Cheetahs, to Steampunk hats, this restaurant is like a museum of cool things! It feels like a restaurant you would experience in a cosmopolitan area, not on the 28th. Street and Bell. The staff is the most beautiful, attentive staff I have ever experienced in my life, from the host to the buser to the servers. Everyone went out to make sure that we were comfortable, enjoying themselves, and a good time. The service was impeccable and we never had to wait to order a drink or have answered our questions. Tommy is there 7 days a week and makes a point to chat with all customers. He came to us several times to check us and make sure everyone takes care of us. Then there's the food. In some first-class cities (London, Tokyo, Sydney, New York, to name a few) and Tommy's Place runs them all and is now officially my favorite restaurant in the world. My favorite restaurant used to be in Sydney, now it's in Arizona. Who would have thought?! We started with the braided pork mud appetizer that literally melts into the mouth. The owner then surprised us and bought us the antipasto salad. Artichokes, a number of meat, peppermint, that was one of the best salads that ever touches my lips. Then we had King Crab Ravioli. I'm usually not a fan of Ravioli, but I'm now. That was really excellent. We also had the shells in the garlic and white wine sauces that were DELICIOUS. The owner wanted us to try her cannoli, so we bought something. Again, this was not disappointed and tasty. Tommy told us stories about his travels and came with two glasses of Italian liqueur, which he received as a gift. We have LOVED how it really feels like a neighborhood restaurant where the owner really takes an interest in his guests and really wants them to feel like at home and have a good time. He had mentioned that he did not do any vouchers or promos, he only cares really well for his guests, so that they rave over him and the restaurant, spread the word, and so that they return. It worked. We're going back and I'm saving the place! In summary, from every restaurant in every country where I was (and I lived in over 10 countries and visited many others) Tommy's Place beats them all out of the water. The best service, delicious food and coolest atmosphere, this place really surprised me. I've always been fun by people who claimed Arizona has good food. After I've seen Tommy's Place, I have to admit I agree with them now. And I never thought this day would come! Tommy's Place is a MUST."
