"We've had a gift card to J Gilberts forever and a day. Finally got the chance to use it. We were greeted promptly and taken to our table. Our server, Lorena was attentive and answered all our questions regarding cocktails and menu items. We decided to start with Calamari as an appetizer and that a great choice. By far the best calamari we have had. Dinner entrees were exceptional, my husband had the porkchop which was cooked to perfection. I had the rack of lamb which was not only delicious but also cooked perfectly. The only 2 things that were just not the best tasting with the rack of lamb were the spinach (too salty) and the mushroom risotto( very mushy and no flavor. The mushrooms should have been chopped). Can we talk dessert ... best carrot cake I've ever had. Our server, Lorena, made our dinning experience at J Gilberts very enjoyable. Best part of a good dinning experience is great service and Lorena did not disappoint."

"We had a very disappointing experience at this restaurant. The salad greens were wilted and lacked freshness, the steak was more fat and gristle than actual meat, and it had a bitter, burnt flavor. The potatoes were the best part of the meal, but even they were just mediocre. I would suggest keeping their food on the road."

"Went there Thursday night, first thing I noticed was they had those personalized sour cream squeeze tubes on the table as well as tarter sauce in a squeeze bottle. You just failed health inspection! I ordered the 10oz rib eye medium rare came to me really rare, Sent it back, came back to me medium. Oh well, I will live. My wife and 1 of my children each had the fried flounder sandwich, their claim was the sandwiches were good but the fries were cold. For dessert 1 child had vanilla pound cake, my other child asked for cheesecake and the waitress returned saying that it was frozen by she could bring it home were it would be thawed by then. Instead she ordered the fried oreos. I had them too,a bit on the greasy side. There you have it! The owner was nowhere in sight either, you would think they would be running the register. Just saying. Ain't going back, sorry!"

"When we walked in the hostess said "Sunday priced bottles are back I questioned her and she said "its the first Sunday we are doing it again When we received our check I thought it seemed high but we were with a group and I didn't look it over. When I got home I realized we were charged full price for two bottles of Mumm Rose. I called and spoke with a manager who basically was dismissive. She said we were one of the tables to be caught in some "miscommunication" and that this location was not doing the special. Our server or a manager did not notify us when we were ordering the second bottle that there was a "miscommunication". Again, when I called I basically got a sorry ....oops"

"Today, we tried their special, and it was absolutely fantastic—5 pounds of seafood for only $65! You really can’t beat that value. The meal included 1 pound of headless shrimp (though you can opt for head-on if you like), 1 pound of crab, 1 pound of black mussels, 1 pound of crawfish, and 1 pound of sausage. Plus, you get four halves of corn on the cob and four small potatoes. Everything was perfectly cooked, as always. I’ve had plenty of southern and low-country boils, but this one definitely topped them all. We even took half of it home! Once again, Paul made sure everything arrived exactly when we needed it. It’s hard to impress me, especially with seafood, but The Twisted Crab has easily earned my five-star rating!"
