"My colleagues and I had reservations at 12 noon and was seated promptly. Since Burmese restaurant are rear in the area, we were really looking forward to this experience. While we weren't in a hurry, the restaurant was. Drinks were ordered and they pushed to have a food order at the same time. We choose to wait to order the food until the drinks were brought to us. We ordered the Burmese style beef and goat stew as well as the Moh Hin Ga (Fish Noodle Soup). While the sauces of the meat stews were nice, it wasn't spectacular! The stew meats were definitely not tender. If you enjoy tough meat, then these dishes are for you. Additionally, the Moh Hin Ga was lacking in flavor and in my colleagues words: "would not order it again". Also, soft drinks and iced tea and refilled complimentary. Given the rush and the below average experience, will not be going back. Given there their great Yelp ratings, there seems to be a lot of patrons that like it. Maybe we just attended them on a bad day or the normal Chef was not present that day..."

"Reluctantly, I would recommend this place if you’re with a group. They have a decent selection of beers and a lively, family-friendly atmosphere. However, the ribs were tough and didn’t fall off the bone as expected, and the salads lacked flavor—they were quite basic and unappetizing. I think the pulled pork might have been a better choice, though the hot mess nachos were pretty good. I don’t plan on dining here again."

"The food here is extremely inconsistent. The tostones were overly salty, and the pernil was dry. When the delivery arrived, the green sauce had accidentally spilled all over the bag. They even buzzed the wrong apartment, which meant the food had to go back to the restaurant. It was raining, and when they finally brought it back, everything was soaked and cold. They didn't even bother to replace the bag. The delivery driver was frustrated about having to return and was a bit rude. I suggested he speak to the person who answers the phone since it wasn't my fault he had to make two trips. He complained about getting wet, and I pointed out that it was just water—he wouldn’t melt. Overall, this place is a complete disaster. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone and will never order from here again."

"This was not our first time dining at the restaurant. We came to celebrate Father’s Day as my husband and father really enjoy the food here. I also held my baby shower in their event space upstairs which went off without any issues. My negative review is due to our last visit here on Father’s Day. The place was unusually not as crowded as I would have expected for Father’s Day. We were seated promptly as we had a reservation. We came with three children under 4 years of age and in total were a party of 8. Our appetizers and drink orders came out late, we waited for them for about 30 minutes. But had no idea that this was the beginning of the most horrible service we would experienced at this place. We then waited more than 2 hours for our food! After complaining to our waitress and manager, they brought out a children’s plate that all kids had to share as they were starving and growing very impatient. The manager finally came out with the rest of our plates. Some had certain things missing and replaced by other times as he said they had ran out of certain things we ordered. He gave us a discount but the entire party came out feeling completely disastify with the food and service."

"Let me say this: I've eaten at a lot of chicken places around the world and for some reason, this grilled chicken at Astoria's Chicken Shack is THE BEST CHICKEN I've eaten. Hands down. No debate. I eat here regularly. I'm talking multiple times a week. Ieat at the restaurant and I order delivery sometimes. It's the best. The chicken is moist and tender. You can see the chef makeit right in front of you on the flame grill so you know IT IS VERY FRESH! It has a delicious flavor to it and the saucescomplement the chicken very well. I always go for the half-chicken on the value menu $13) because you can't get a meal betterthan it! It is SO HEALTHY! You are given a side salad which is fresh and you are also given another side of your choice. Inaddition to all of that the chicken, the sauces, the salad, and the side), you are also given pita bread with it! This place issimply the best! I absolutely love the sweet potato fries too! THE SWEET POTATO FRIES ARE SO GOOD!!! You need to try them. Theyare delicious, crispy, and bursting with flavor. The combination of the half-chicken with the sweet potato fries is literallyunbeatable. The price is also amazing. VERY AFFORDABLE. I absolutely love coming here. I also want to say that the manager ofthe shop is a great guy and everyone that works with him is also very helpful and respectful. I feel at home when I'm eating atthis place! I will definitely be coming back! Thank you Chicken Shack!"

"The best food in the area! Skip the mediocre options for a hangover and spend a little more to enjoy truly excellent meals. If you call to place an order, it might be helpful to do so in Spanish if you can! The weekends tend to be very busy, but it's always worth it. Many people rave about the roasted chicken, although I haven't tried it myself. I ordered the shrimp and bean rice, and it was always flavorful, with the shrimp tails on, and the beans were some of the best I've ever had! I still need to try the oxtail soup! Update: I ordered pickup through GrubHub, and the service remains outstanding, just like the food!"

"I discovered this restaurant while looking for a lunch spot and decided to give it a try. I called in my order for jumbo shrimp, rice, and salad. Upon arrival, I parked on a nearby street and went inside to pay the gentleman at the front. My food wasn't ready yet, so I waited for a short while. "Pepperoni and Roasted Garlic. THIS was TRUE New York Style pizza! And the best thing about it... They don't try to sell their pizza as New York pizza. Slightly charred thin and crispy crust that was simple and light. High quality tomatoes used to make the sauce. High quality mozzarella. Perfect mix of pepperoni that was slightly crisped by the oven mixed with roasted garlic. My only improvement would be to cut the garlic cloves in half for a more even distribution. Not sure how their ovens work, but it tastes like a NYC coal powered oven to fast bake this best version of pizza I've had in the Triad. Caprese salad with balsamic glaze could use more basil, but serving it on a bed of shredded lettuce is brilliant."

"Pollos Mario has always been one of my favorite places. This was my first time at this location? the food was not good. It was poor quality and the restaurant itself wasn?t that clean. Immediately after eating i felt sick. It?s the next morning now and I?m still sick . On the way out, we saw rats crawling around their cellar . I wouldn?t recommend this location at all and I hope they clean this place up! UPDATE: i see the owner has replied. Yes, this is the correctlocation. Letter grades are based off of when the health dept comes to inspect. It doesn?t necessarily mean that you?re establishment follows health codes 24/7. I should have taken photos of the food and restaurant for proof . Please makesure your staff is serving better quality food and provides better service ."

"I recently discovered this gem of a restaurant. The establishment is immaculate and the staff are incredibly friendly. The meats are cooked to perfection and look absolutely tantalizing. I particularly enjoyed the baked potato topped with brisket. It was clear to see the tenderness of the food as the brisket and sausages sliced effortlessly. Furthermore, the prices are very reasonable compared to other similar establishments, usually charging a few dollars more per pound. This charming little restaurant is perfect for either takeout or dining in, making it a great spot for a quick and satisfying lunch."

"Fantastic restaurant. The atmosphere was buzzing and had a great vibe in there. We were greeted with a smile and shown straight to our table. Our waiter was extremely friendly and helpful. He had a great sense of humour and with his charm and wit put us at ease straight away. We were rather overwhelmed by the menu having lots of tasty options we found it hard to choose!! And sensing our confusion our waiter came over and offered advice and help and his own personal recommendations (the Korean BBQ Wings WOW). The cocktails were delicious and the food was every bit as nice as it sounded. All for what we felt were very reasonable prices.
