"The experience was disappointing. The service has declined significantly, and there’s a clear lack of efficiency in the kitchen. There was a noticeable indifference from both the servers and the kitchen staff, which was quite unfortunate. I used to find this place reliable, but due to these issues, I’ve stopped going with my friends. I've tried many of their dishes, but the quality just isn't there anymore."

"Been a loyal customer for over a decade. Tonight I could no longer get 3 meats. I asked the order taker if there was some way I could order 3 meats of my choosing and he replied no they got rid of it. I was like ok I’ll downsize to 2 meats I guess if that’s my only option that allows me to pick my meats. This reason alone is why I will never return to Chester’s. I bought a cup for the sweet tea they always have and once again disappointed. I don’t know why they would take away any option for me to choose 3 meats. I tried and was literally told no option for that! I guess it’s time I break my loyalty of over a decade and try out the new smokehouse in Mystic. Also this visit was the first time that the cornbread wasn’t even edible! Bye Chester’s!!"

"Great food and ice cream as always, it's hard to go wrong with burgers, fries, and the like. We love to stop by at least once when we're in town visiting family. The young folks who took our orders were polite and pleasant, and I appreciate that you canorder inside or outside. Mind the small parking lot (which can get a get a tad crowded on beautiful summer days), and don'tforget that that there are four tables out back under a roof to enjoy the breeze... just be ready to cover your ears if a traingoes by!"

"My daughter placed a large take-out order late yesterday afternoon, and I gave her my gift certificate with a balance of $15. I ordered the Fried Fish PoBoy, but I was really disappointed. It was mostly bread, and I only found three small pieces of fish. While eating, I spent most of my time searching for the tiny piece of fish underneath the mountain of lettuce on one half of the PoBoy."

"One expects bar food from a bar, of course. If so, The Spar may surprise you, but only in the most pleasant way. I had the prime rib (just happened to stumble in on a Saturday when that was the special) and it was excellent--flavorful and moist. It comes with a huge amount of sides--baked or mashed potatoes, vegetable, soup or salad, a roll, and it was all pretty great. Service was excellent, casual and friendly."

"I finally tried Dons Grill and let me tell you.... FIREEEEEE!!!! I got a swiss bacon cheeseburger with onion rings. When I tell you I inhaled it, I mean INHALED it! I will FORSURE be coming back. The burger was amazing. Wasnt a burger that you see on Instagram thats trying to do too much ya know? It was perfect. This is a true hidden gem!"
