"I was travelling to Grand Forks and decided to stop at the Cenex in cando for a bite to eat and drinks. My brother and I grabbed drinks and went to the food service counter to see the selection and place our order. We stood there for a long period while 4 employees ignored our presence. They were all just a few feet away. One was preparing a sub, one was stocking and one was taking a pizza put if the oven. None of them said a word to me. The cashier stopped by the food counter and started writing on a note pad. He also did not acknowledge me. At this point it had been several minutes of all 4 of them avoided eye contact with me. I asked if there was a manager available. And the girl making the sub ignored me. The man cashier said can you take her order? And the girl replied to him I 'm making a sub At that point I realized that none of them wanted to provide service to me or my brother. We 're mixed race and I 've experienced a lot of prejudice in my 32 years in this state. Almost daily. The guy replied to me you can place an order of you want . I was uspset and I asked for a manager. They told me there wasn 't a manager. I pressed again and the male cashier said that the manager is on break and I can wait to talk to her. I said told him I wasn 't waiting and would like to just purchase my drinks. I went to the counter and apaid for my drinks. I couldn 't contain my hurt feelings and end up leaving the store with unsavory language as I walked out the door. F ing racists. This is by far the worst experience I 've had at a convenience store and I will advise all travellers to avoid this store if you are of mixed race. Everyone I know will hear my story. You 've lost business from several hundred people that I personally know that travel through cando often."
