"This place is over priced and trash. The people behind the counter spend most of the time with their backs turned so you're standing there like helllooo?? And the egg and cheese sandwiches are 7 bucks and they skimp on the meat but POUR pepper and salt. It's gross and I have no idea how the transplants living in Astoria give this place 5 stars.The sausage for the sausage egg and cheese are the little coin Patties that you buy at the supermarket, and they turn around and charge 7 bucks for it. That's assuming they didn't screw up the order which they do CONSISTENTLY."

"NOT ALLEGRY FRIENDLY We were just refused service at the Barnside Dinner. Despite not having any allergen on site, no peanuts, the manager said that they won’t take this risk of serving us because our son has a peanut allergy. We were asked to leave. A customer shouted at my wife to leave. Brought our son here for breakfast. He was wanting to try the little diner. We were thrown out of the building because our son has a peanut allergy and they did not want to take any risk there might be a peanut somewhere despite telling us they had pecans. So they throw out anyone who has an allergy."

"Ashamed to say this being a local. Today 7/7/2024 was my first experience having a Spanky's meal and let me say, I was not disappointed. My daughter took me for breakfast after church. When we walked in, there were only three large tables available as all the other smaller sets were occupied by happy, eating and chattering customers. The server we had, I'm sorry she told me her name and I forgot it, greeted us with a smile and was very kind. As busy as it was she did not rush us to get our order nor did she ignore our presence. She took our order with a smile and our food arrived in a surprisingly fast time frame, was hot and delicious. She attended to us and she asked how we were doing when we didn't have a mouth full of food??. Spanky's you gained a new customer today, I will definitely be back. Next time I will try lunch or dinner."

"Love their fresh bagels, Poppy is my fave! toasted with cc. ::drools:: I also really like their toasted sesame bagels everything bagels. Clean place super friendly staff who know many of their customers by name. They DO NOT TAKE CARD, so have cash handy or use their ATM. They make iced coffee and have a nice variety of bagel fillings! Ask for what you want, people have different cream cheese quantity preference, but they can 't read your mind. I like my bagel loaded with cream cheese, my partner does not. Specify what you want bc not everyone likes the same thing, they 'll be left to assume less is more for a lot of people. It 's the safest, least messy, most preferred for many, if not specified extra cream cheese. :"

"The food at this restaurant was decent, nothing extraordinary. However, the service provided by Moore (or however you spell his name) was outstanding. His smooth accent elevated my dining experience from hunger to pure satisfaction. While the food was just okay, Moore's attentive service and friendly demeanor made the meal enjoyable. My table and I were truly impressed by Moore's service, and we couldn't stop praising him. I even tipped him 50% for his exceptional service. I would consider returning to this restaurant just for Moore, despite living in the Philadelphia suburbs. Keep up the great work, Moore - you are truly a gem. If the restaurant ever lets you go, they will be losing their best asset. Good luck, my friend."

"The restaurant was much larger than we anticipated. The portion sizes were generous and the menu featured classic dinner fare. The biscuits were exceptional. I had an omelette prepared as a folded burrito, similar to what I've enjoyed at resorts. The grits were fairly typical. For those seeking vegetarian options, there were plenty of choices to create your own plate with various sides."

"The food is no consistent, and last time I went in here, I was told it was Mexican but it's labeled here as a Dominican Restaurant, that's confusing on it's own. The service sucked and the atmosphere just seemed dead. Although the little outside seating is nice with the live plants makes some type of aesthetic for the place."
