"Well, everyone, you are in for a treat today as I will be giving you a two for. What that means exactly is two reviews in one. A little bit of background, we went here the day before yesterday, and I had the two beef tacos plate with rice and beans, and my girl had the carne asada fries. The day before that, I had the steak egg and cheese burrito and fries delivered. Now, on to the review in question. Yesterday, I was feeling particularly hungry, so I ordered a bean tostada, shredded beef taco, and two rolled tacos. I also ordered a chicken taco and a fish taco to try out. Well, the fish taco and the fish taco were the business. Fry the fish taco asap!!! The beans seem freshly made, which makes the tostada stand out. I previously had the beef taco, and it never disappoints. It may have been a bit much, but it was all so good that I could not stop eating it!!! Today, I decided to go light, and I ordered a green chile burrito and carne asada quesadilla, and they did not disappoint. The pork in the burrito was so thick and chunky and very savory. It was pretty mild to me as far as spiciness goes but very tasty. I prefer my food spicier. The carne asada quesadilla was very good, and I enjoyed it as well. In my life, this is the first place that I have ordered food from four out of the last five days and honestly I feel like a could eat more but I must reign it in a little bit and get back to life, back to reality as one great music group said but I will be back for more and soon!!!"

"The salsa bar is pretty standard, enough to satisfy a craving for a taqueria. However, Vallarta has a better selection in Elk Grove, so if you like your toppings, I’d suggest heading there. As for the carne asada fries, they’ve really gone downhill. The last time I had them nearly a year ago, the texture of the fries and toppings were perfect. Beans can be a tricky addition to carne asada fries because they can make the dish mushy, so it’s best to eat them quickly. But you generally can’t go wrong with them; they’re usually a solid choice. Fast forward to today, though, and the fries were so disappointing I don’t even know what to say. They felt like they were just boiled with no crispy texture at all—just mush. Why would I pay $13.50 for this? You know it’s bad when you take a fork and it breaks apart before you can get it to your mouth. It could be that I walked home with them, but they shouldn’t be this bad after just a few minutes. The toppings were as good as I remembered, but if the fries are terrible, the whole dish suffers. I really don’t understand it. If you’re looking for decent fries and are staying in Elk Grove, I recommend Vallarta or the food truck near the Walmart at Franklin Blvd and Bruceville Rd. Those fries are far superior and definitely worth the effort to find. I haven't explored other nearby options for fries because these two places are conveniently close and reliable enough to bike to."

"They are the best! Tortilla chips are homemade and oh so good. Best chicken fajitas I 've ever had. Chicken was tender and moist. Vegetables had the right amount of caramelizition on them. It 's not burnt, just favorable. We will definitely be coming back. Oh, the service was great. Everyone was very friendly and attentive. Update: I had the Asada Fries, and they were amazing. Huge portion more than enough for a meal. Update: 2-22-22 It was a very cold day, and the only warm beverage was coffee. I didn 't coffee at night, so I opted to have the albondigas soup. I was very disappointed. Vegetables were way overcooked, and the huge meatballs were in-indible. They were hard as a rock. I had to take them out of the soup to try and cut them to size to eat. It was very hard to cut, and when I finally got a small enough piece to eat, it tasted freezer burnt and tough. Others at my table tried it also and had the same comments. When the waitress asked how everything was, I told her. Her comment back was, We get that a lot. We grind our own beef here, and sometimes it 's like that. My suggestion is that maybe it 's not worth grinding it yourself. I 'll never order that again. Another suggestion is maybe offer tea for cold nights. Hot water is easy, and tea bags keep forever. My husband 's food tasted like it was days old and just reheated in a microwave. They were a really great restaurant but are slipping. I like giving second chances, but I 'm not sure if I can convince my husband to go back."
