"I ate the gizzards and they were cooked wonderfully. Not hard but light, crispy and tender. Most places overcook them. The staff was wonderful, informative and pleasant to talk to. The place was clean and upkept. The atmosphere was very much to be desired. There was a church group across the street in the parking lot preaching over a microphone. No idea what was up with that. When I got my food there was a homeless lady that came up to me asking me and others in the dining room for money to eat. I said no and kept eating. Got some food to go and left. I would go back but drive thru only if I did."

"Ownership has recently changed and this restaurant did a U-Turn for the worst. Shrimp are half the size they use to be and now the fish is made with a different batter (large rough cornmeal). It use to be fine and flaky. Coleslaw is now in tiny containers. They also lost almost all of the their old staff that was excellent and very friendly. After three years of being a regular customer I will no longer be going back. Why someone would buy a successful business and change everything I don't understand."

"I hadn’t eaten at Sam’s for over a year and decided to grab some dinner on my way home tonight. I should’ve known to leave when my shoes were sticking to the floor, but the young man working was very welcoming and helped me decide what to order. I waited quite a while and the food came out HOT. Little did I know until I got home that it was all burnt, hard as a rock, and nasty. The fries were like they set there all day and they just refried them. Everything melted the styrofoam containers. The catfish was the only edible food. When I called to let them know how bad it was the guy working said he didn’t know what to say to me. I just suggested that he suggest the cook to change the oil, serve fresh food, and not fry everything to death. He called me back a few minutes later and said the cook told him I ordered too much food! And when I come back they’ll remake part of my food. No thank you sir. Go to Mimi’s! Don’t waste your money here. It’s awful. I went to Mimi’s 1st and they were out of catfish which is the only reason I ended up at Sam’s."

In the men’s restroom, there was no soap, and the paper towel roll was just left next to the sink instead of being properly placed. Additionally, condiments were left on the window sill for customers to clean up after themselves, which is quite unprofessional. The atmosphere was chaotic, with employees shouting and children running around unsupervised. Overall, it was a disappointing experience.""

"My father, and I eat here quite often. We live about 50 minutes from Sam?s, but y?all !! It?s well worth the drive! I?m telling y?all, the prices are so reasonable especially for the amount of food you receive. The service is ALWAYS impeccable, I know theowners of this location by going in there, and they are some of the best people you?ll ever meet! "Bobby was such a wonderful server/cashier! So helpful and kind, and a wonderful person to chat with. Loved my shrimp so much I took it home, the catfish was beyond tasty, the red beans and rice was superb, the hush puppies were fantastic, and the potato salad was delicious. Definitely my new go to spot for fish and shrimp! Definitely coming back soon! Service: Dine in"
