"We opted for this place after living in Grand Prairie for the last 17 years. No reason for us to venture to Main Street, as there are plenty of places south of I-20, but a Groupon provided a discount, so we were on our way. The parking lot was empty for our mid-week visit, but we were not deterred. Windows were dirty and the place looked like it could use a thorough handyman inspection as part of the wallcoverings were loose, ceiling tiles were painted over poorly and the tables were sticky, possibly due to staff using alcohol for disinfection which may have denatured the polyurethane finish on the table edging. An empty fish tank was placed at the edge of the serving area in addition to a large stainless steel serving table, which seemed out of place and the music was loud, coming from a karaoke speaker. Good thing we like Latin music. Ironically, we were the only visitors during our visit and the staff consisted of one bartender, who acted as our waiter plus cooking staff, a young lady we saw as we were leaving, and a couple regulars at the bar. It's tough now for restaurants, so staffing was short, but understandable. We had shrimp cocktails in two sizes and the large was definitely plentiful, had a good taste, with a treasure trove of tiny shrimp 61-70 size). We ordered a kids hamburger with fries, a fried tilapia plate, a mixed fajita plate beef, chicken, shrimp) and the aforementioned shrimp cocktails. The tilapia was served with French fries and the fajitas were served with white rice and refried beans. The fajita plate featured small shrimp that were not deveined nor stripped of their legs. They were probably 41-50 size medium), not suitable for an entrée. The beans had the consistency you will find with older beans and the white rice was generic and bland. The beef had definitely been cooked long before as it was very well done, although it had a great flavor to go with the onions and green peppers. This was a challenging visit, as the receipt presented to me did not reflect the Groupon discount $40) and it was only rectified after some smooth cash register manipulation by the bartender, since an itemized receipt was not offered initially. This isn't a chain restaurant, so the corporate standards you may expect are just not there. The staff was friendly, but seemed to lack training. Will I go back? Probably not as there are other places that offer great seafood, including Crazy Krab. It's too bad, as Main Street could use a few more nicer restaurants to join FireHouse Gastro Park, which is fun and Tuscany's Pasta and Pizza, two of our favorites. This spot could use a good marketing person in order to increase sales to allow them to do a thorough cleaning and fix some simple things that could make a big impact to curb appeal. As a plus, the beers were cold!"
