"I remember Smokies when it was in Wyandotte and the difference between the two restaurants is night and day. I called ahead to find out how long the wait was. I should have known when I was told, There's no wait. We're empty on a Sunday at 5:30pm that this was not going to be a good experience. The food as I remember it at the Wyandotte location was too good for this restaurant to be empty. When we arrived, I was stunned at not only the appearance of the restaurant, but the staff as well. This was nothing like the old restaurant and staff. The restaurant looked like a dive bar. I was overdressed. The hostess called for the waitress to seat us. I mentioned I was hungry and advised that I wanted to order a mushroom crustini. The hostess immediately advised me that the dish had been removed from the menu, not because of COVID, but simply because. I drove 27 miles for 43 minutes for the mushroom crostini only to find it had been removed from the menu. I was disappointed. The hostess then gave us a menu of maybe 15 available items. Nothing on their menu besides pizza seemed the least bit worth ordering. To make matters worse, their menu doesn't have prices on it. LOL As if! I was annoyed. I paid for the lemonade I ordered and left and went to Perdino's where I know what to expect. If I could give this restaurant zero stars I would. It is DEFINITELY NOT WORTH THE DRIVE.The website is advertising the old menu and it is not available, and most of the good items have been removed.According to the website, Scott McBeath and Tom Mercurio the owners of Smokies Restaurant Wyandotte are proud to open their second downriver location on Grosse Ile Well they shouldn't be."
