"Our waitress Storm, was very attentive to our dining needs. We did not need reservations and was waited on immediately, upon arrival on New Year’s Eve. The food was served hot and she made sure our tea and coffee glass/cup was refilled without us asking her. The food was seasoned well and tasty, especially the vegetables and soup. The French fries was fried well done, or crispy. My husband and friend enjoyed dining at the Empire Diner and will go back to dine there again without reservation. We also, will tell our church members of the wonderful experience we had, dining at this restaurant. Submitted with high regards, AJC"

"Really surprised to find this diamond in the rough. Under a permanent structure of scaffolding, and certainly not what I would call an enticing decor, the food and service at this diner was especially good. I was looking for a good place to sit while waiting for someone at the dental surgery clinic next door. The table cubicles were strewn in a most un feng shui fashion, seats ripped and needing repair, I was desperate and sat. The waitress was pleasant and accommodating. I actually got skim milk for coffee, the toast was unbuttered, the eggs hot and runny and best of all the home fries were crispy and flavorful. I?ve been so used to horrible undercooked home fries I?d forgotten they weren?t supposed to be that way. When finished I confessed why I was lingering and she made me even more welcome with an invitation to sit as long as I would like. I sat and watched NY1 for a while until summoned next door. I will be back."

"This is our Friday night place. We bring our grandchildren almost every week. We are greeted with a hug and handshakes. My youngest grandbaby runs right to Billy with a big hug, every time. Serve is great. We usually ask for Junior, who know what each one of us wants before we even sit. "The turkey sandwich was made with cold cuts rather than fresh-carved turkey, and it was bland and served cold, as if it had just come out of the fridge. The French onion soup was presented in a cup no larger than a teacup. The owner charged an additional $2 for onion rings, and we received only seven small pieces in return. I decided to leave a minimal $2 tip, which he didn't merit, and it was included on my bill. Later, I discovered that he had added another $2 to my total when I reviewed my online statement. Overall, both the food and service were disappointing."
