"While at dine in, I was served my drink in a styrofoam cup that had red lip stick on the rim!? Complained to the cashier and a young boy came from out from the kitchen explaining the reason they rinse out the styrofoam to go cups is due to small pieces of styrofoam in the cups!! I explained my concern was the lipstick on the rim. He acted like it was not a big deal.. I will never be back! With this pandemic going on. Why thee hell Would they rinse out a to go cup that comes in a sealed package!!?? If they are cutting corners refilling the drink left over after dine in meals? I wonder what else they?re saving money on? Disgusting!!"

"Everything was served hot and delicious. My husband expected the General Tso tofu to be spicy, but he found it to be tangy instead. The pan-fried dumplings were tasty, and my sister's Yaki Udon was fresh and hot, though not spicy. I really enjoyed the teriyaki chicken bowl, but I wasn't interested in the soda that came with it as a requirement and had to choose one anyway (which my husband ended up drinking). Overall, we'll definitely order again—great food!"

"Love!!! Everything I've ever ordered from there. They delivered once. I don't know if they're still doing it. There was a delivery fee of $2.00. (Most people would take this from their tip to the delivery driver. Try the appetizer shrimps. Worth $5-6. Honey chicken should die. All your favorites like general Tso's, orange chicken, sweet sour pork, chicken or shrimp, lo mine, etc. ALL should die! Great soup and appetizer menu also. All right. I've never been disappointed. Again everything I've ever ordered was great!! Try if you don't."

"A solid 4 out of 5 every time. This is definitely our go-to spot. The noodles are juicy and a bit greasy—I'd love for them to be even more fried and indulgent, but they're still really good. The fried meats with sauce, like the orange chicken and Peking spareribs, are always reliable; they come with generous portions and plenty of sauce. However, they could use a bit more crispiness. The same goes for the salt and pepper spare ribs and salt and pepper chicken. The flavors are fantastic, and there’s a good amount of food, but again, they could be crisped up a bit. I usually spend $50 or more and end up with leftovers for days. My wife adores this place; whenever she's upset with me, I just bring home some of this delicious food, and it always cheers her up."

"This is the place for Asian fusion in middletown! I have been coming here for years and I can't get over how good the sushi rolls tuna avocado and spicy crunchy crab meat are although it isn't very spicy which I like , flank steal teriyaki bento box is cooked perfect and the vegetables are always fresh.It's my go to lunch place I can count on for great food! The place is usually pretty empty which did worry me at first but now it is just my hidden gem. I'm guessing the location reduces the foot traffic to it but it is quiet and amazing so great for the customers who find it!Vegetarian options: My brother is a vegan and loves the roll options and tofu options. "So, I decided that today was a Chinese food day but South Street has gone downhill and the majority of restaurants on the street have gone out of business or limited the quantity and usually the quality of their food. Golden Empress Garden has decided tobecome a take out only restaurant even though the residents of South Street, around 7th Street, are desperately in need of asitdown Chinese restaurant in this area. Golden Empress doesn't care. They don't have to. They did allow me to sit and eat buteverything was served in take out containers at the table which is a disappointment in itself. I've realized that you can'treally depend on Golden Empress anymore. One month it's great food and the next month it's bad. Maybe they keep changing chefs.Today was a mix of both. The wonton soup was ok , but the broth was basically tasteless. The spring roll was horrible. Verysmall with a gooey meatless center. The hard noodles were stale. The pork fried rice was surprisingly good with a lot of porkand decent amount of flavor, except that it was better the last time I had it a couple of weeks ago. The hunan chickenactually contained a lot of real chicken. Not that rubbery stuff you usually get pretending to be real chicken at many Chineserestaurants these days. The only problem was that it didn't taste like hunan sauce and I had to add salt and plum sauce to makeit taste more authentic. All in all, it was a mediocre experience and I don't think I'll be back for awhile. Especially sinceit's sad to sit at a take out only restaurant."

"Ive been ordering from this location for 3 years. Never an issue until today. I made my normal 80 dollar order and i was missing an item. I called the restaurant and talked to the lady on the phone, she was apologetic and some guy in the background screaming how i was a liar that he put the item in my order. I will not order from these clowns ever again. I spend 80 buck 2 times a month and you call me a liar over a 6 dollar item. Now you lost a customer. I want the item because its the only thing my autistic daughter will eat from there. Nobody else eats it."

"The eggplant with garlic sauce had a sweetness similar to that of sweet and sour sauce. The eggplant itself was excellent and served hot, although it wasn’t spicy. It also included chunks of bell pepper and onion, which is more common in sweet and sour dishes than I anticipated, but it was a pleasant surprise and added to the overall enjoyment."

"The cold peanut noodles were a disaster; it felt like they just scooped a dollop of peanut butter on top—they were so thick I couldn't even mix it in with the overcooked noodles, and it didn't resemble a sauce at all. The egg roll was far from fresh. The only positive note I can make is that they were generous with the portions, which I would have appreciated if the food had been good. However, for me, quality is far more important than quantity! I cannot recommend this place at all."

"customer service is terrible. the owner is a super rude oriental woman who cries to the customers when they complain about eating. they burn the chicken wings and then scream over the phone that they don't. If the customer says that they come back with the food to show them, they refuse to hear and say not to seduce because the food was good and they won't prepare it again and too bad, even no refund. when they take the job personally, lady says to hurry and is very, very rude. has no maniacs at all. never order them from this place."

"Can 't describe how pleased I am to have tried this place for the first time, definitely a new local favorite. Not only the portions are worth every penny, but the taste is incredible. Wife had sesame chicken, her words tender/fresh flavorful and has a smooth kick, not overbearing and gross like other places . And I had the chicken with garlic, cause I love spicy with a rich flavor, entirely on point, totally satisfied. Not to mention, just the rice alone is a treat. If all you want is a full belly, not break the bank, and smile like Joey after stealing his dates cake, give them a try."

"Wow, they give you A LOT OF FOOD in the order, so this was excellent for me when I had a 3 Item Combo. I actually had enough food for 2 days, and this still tastes great after refrigeration and 3 minutes in the microwave. I dont care for rice in general, so I asked for only noodles, and they gave me a double standard serving of noodles to make up for the excluded rice. They have done this for me twice, so they do pay attention to notes made in the order, unlike some other places Ive tried. The noodles are thick and tasty, not dry and skinny like at Panda Express. The pieces of meat are huge, so I had to cut them in half. Ive had the following items in several consecutive orders so far, and they were all delish!! With the Spicy Orange Chicken, the flavor was sweet and thickly layered, and the added jalapenos and onions are of significant size too, cut by layers about 1" wide, not diced rings, which make as an excellent side. The Green Bean Chicken was remarkable, and the best green beans Ive ever eaten, and Ive always liked them since I was a kid. The BBQ Chicken is extra sweet and tangy, cut in strips, and very tender. The Teriyaki Chicken and Kung Pao Chicken were also above standard with the right amount of flavoring and spice. I have noticed however that Doordash does not have their full menu available compared to being there in person and their online menu seen on Google. However, youre still bound to find everything you want, as its still a good selection. They also give fortune cookies too."
