"This place was great!  Stopped in yesterday for lunch, and you could smell the wood smoked meats as soon as you walked in the door.  I had the smoked turkey sandwich with a side of slaw and some iced tea.  The counter help was very friendly and offered good advice on the food choices.  I just wished I was hungrier so I could try more offerings.  The place was also decorated really cool too, and one thing I liked was that there was a sink in the dining room, so you could wash your hands really fast before eating without having to head into the bathroom, that was cool."

"Conveniently located on Broadway next to Tootsies, in front of Ryman Auditorium and across the street from Ernest Tubb's Record Shop, Jack's was one of our lunchtime picks during our visit to Nashville. In addition to its location, it's a Nashville original (and now more of a tourist attraction) that has been serving its version of bar-b-que since 1989. The first location was on Broadway at First Avenue, but that site is now a parking garage for the riverfront development. However, this new spot has the appearance of being filled with history and worn to the point of an old leather shoe. "We attended a funeral that was in the neighborhood of this restaurant location. After the services, we researched TA to see what four star plus rated restaurants were nearby. This one came up. At 1:00 in the afternoon, nine of us headed over and dined at this location. It is cafeteria style where you order first and then sit down. There was available seating-we put two tables together. I ordered the two meats and two sides plate. Brisket, and smoked Turkey with baked beans and apples. You get a choice of cornbread or toast. It is plenty of food. My husband got the ribs with two sides. The ribs fell off the bone. He got about 7 bones. Everyone was pleased with their food. It was tasty, hot and plentiful. There was only one negative to report and that was the choice of bbq sauce. All of the sauces were too fancy with some extra ingredient like vinegar or gravy or chili spice. All they needed was something with a sweet baby rays or similar flavor to whatever is used in the bbq baked beans. There was nothing like that in the eight choices of sauce. So I just used the juice from my baked beans as my sauce. Aside from that negative, I would definitely dine here again. It was very good."
