"We had a great dinner and excelled service. The 3 of us shared fries (so good! , beet salad (also delicious and sliders. Lastly we had the doughnuts for dessert. Our server was great with beer recommendations and accommodating our requests for a few things on the side, wanting a side of ranch, etc. The only complaint was that during dinner there was a terrible smell of smoke. We pointed this out to the server and manager as there were people smoking directly outside the restaurant. The smoke smell went away, but came back later and it was the same group. This leads me to think it is possible that the restaurant didn't actually talk to the smokers the first time and let them know the law about smoking near a door. Also, I feel like the host who was standing right there looking at them should have been trained to know this is not ok and either feel comfortable talking to the group or alerting the manager. Later the manager came to our table and apologized saying he was in the back and could smell it. This is not a reason to keep me from coming back because we had a good time. However, I do wish this was handled better and hopefully now the staff knows what to do in the future. I looked on the way out and didn't see any signs about no smoking so perhaps those can be added. I know I have seen them at other restaurants. (I believe the law in Mountain View is something like 25 feet from the entrance there is no smoking allowed."

"I ACTUALLY CAME UPON THIS ESTABLISHMENT, WHILE GRUB HUBBING and DECIDED to TRY IT for myself.... The service and set up, NO... NO... NO... im COMPLETELY TURNED OFF... U have to ORDER, PAY and TIP before having a seat... The PLACE to STAND and ORDER is CRAMPED... i EXPECT better service, ESPECIALLY for the price... I'll do THIS is IT or BIG DADDYS or a few other SOUL FOOD PLACES that are HANDS DOWN BETTER SPOTS before coming here again... the FOOD was OK... NO LIE the SMACKIN MAC was DELICIOUS so was the BBQ sauce for the RIBS... but the RIBS themselves were ok as was the CORN BREAD and LEMONADE... i also had CABBAGE that i DID NOT LIKE at ALL... NO EXCHANGES... ONCE U BUY its BOUGHT... THIS WHOLE EXPERIENCE is my FAULT, because as i said i found this place while GRUB HUBBING... and when i pick up orders for GRUB HUB there is always a wait... and MOST TIMES not ALWAYS because there is ONE YOUNG LADY that works there who is always PROFESSIONAL HELPFUL and POLITE and im ALWAYS HAPPY to see her, because i know shes guna HELP to get my order and get me out the way... i APPRECIATE her... SORRY... i CANT REMEMBER her NAME : , but when she isnt there... OMG... im either IGNORED for a while or GREETED with a DRY IDC NONCHALANT MATTER of FACT ATTITUDE, : which shouldve been my CLUE on how I'D be TREATED as a CUSTOMER..."

"Being from California, we don’t really eat allot of fried food. However it tastes awesome so.. when we got here we got hooked on the meat pies and corn nuggets from this place. Bad for my heart but awesome for my taste buds… and my 3 kids cannot stop eating it. If we were to live here in Nola. This would definitely be on the once a month eat out place"
