"I placed my order over the phone using the Menuism menu. This dish is one I've enjoyed over the years at various restaurants in San Francisco’s Chinatown when Hunan and Szechuan cuisine first gained popularity back in the 1970s. It was called Chinese Chicken Salad, along with some Chinese names I can’t recall. I used to practice martial arts with Kuo Lien-Ying at Portsmouth Square in Chinatown and attended Sifu Kuo's 80th birthday banquet, along with visits to other restaurants he recommended. It was at these places where I first experienced this dish. I had never come across it outside of San Francisco until I saw it on the online menu here. However, when I called tonight, the person who answered informed me that nobody had ordered it recently, so it’s no longer on the menu. Still, she mentioned that the family makes it when they have the special sauce available. Luckily, they had the sauce (a spicy peanut-based sauce, akin to Thai peanut sauce), and I was able to enjoy my favorite dish for dinner tonight. If you’re lucky, you might be able to order it on a day they have it available; they call it Bon Bon Chicken. There are plenty of other delightful dishes on the menu as well if Bon Bon Chicken isn’t available, ranging from sweet Orange Chicken to spicy Mongolian Beef. I highly recommend the Chinatown restaurant; it is my favorite Chinese eatery in Petaluma. Be sure to enjoy a meal there soon!"
