"End of 2024 Review: Nancy’s Pizza in Niles As 2024 comes to a close, I wanted to reflect on one of our favorite local spots: Nancy’s Pizza in Niles. For me, pizza is more than food—it’s tied to memories. During my high school, Navy, and college years, I worked at a small pizza place called Little Rosa’s in Hanover Park. It wasn’t just a job; it was where I learned the rhythm and chaos of the kitchen, the dance of assembling pizzas, and the pride that comes with delivering something people love. Walking into Nancy’s takes me back to those days. Nancy’s might be a franchise—you’ll find locations across Chicagoland and even in places like Georgia (Chicago-style pizza in the Deep South! —but the Niles location is special. It’s family-run, owned by Fred and his family, who pour their energy into every pizza that comes out of their kitchen. Their dedication shines through, whether you’re dining in or taking home a box. Niles is spoiled for choice when it comes to pizza. The “big three”—Giordano’s, Lou Malnati’s, and Nancy’s—all have their own loyal followings. Their crusts, sauces, and styles are distinct, which makes exploring them fun. And then there are the smaller, privately owned joints, reminiscent of Little Rosa’s, which hold their own charm. But for us, Nancy’s stands out. What keeps us coming back to Nancy’s is their consistency. Their crust and sauce remind me of the flavors I grew up with—balanced, rich, and just right. This holiday season especially, they’ve been our go-to. Between Christmas Eve, hosting family, and New Year’s, we ordered several XL pizzas to keep things easy and delicious. Whether it was a big family send-off or a last-minute meal, Nancy’s came through every time. Fred and his team care deeply about their customers. I know firsthand how tough running a pizza place can be—the ovens are blazing, the pace is relentless, and mistakes happen. But at Nancy’s, if something’s off, they stand by their product and make it right. That’s a rare quality and one of the many reasons we’ve been loyal for over 15 years. Our usual order is a stuffed pizza: half black olives and spinach, half sausage and mushroom. For our son, it’s pepperoni and Canadian bacon. Every bite is a reminder of why Nancy’s feels like home. It’s not just the food—it’s the experience of knowing you’ll get exactly what you expect, every time. Nancy’s has become part of our family’s story. From lazy movie nights to busy holidays, their pizza has been a comforting constant. If you haven’t tried Nancy’s in Niles yet, you’re missing out. And if you ever have an issue, just call Fred. He takes pride in what he does and will make it right. Here’s to more great pizza and memories in 2025 and beyond."
