"I have to say that our evening at H2O was a monumental disappointment. This used to be one of the best restaurants in Pensacola. It used to be hip yet intimate, with excellent food. No longer. To start, the new decor is cold (quite literally), all stone and glass. While this gives it a groovy feel, the family pool access nearby makes the bar a transient area and loud. That noise echoes off everything. To make it worse, the music playing is standard beach fare- Buffet and Marley. Overall, the atmosphere is hotel pool bar with expensive decorations. Certainly not intimate nor classy. Definitely NOT fine dining, as the menu states. My fish was great (Crusted Grouper on menu). Hers was markedly not (Wahoo special). The food spun out of the kitchen much too quickly. Our service was average. The wine was a good selection (Echelon Pinot Noir), but the waiter didn't keep up with pouring. The tables were not aligned. The restaurant floor was dirty. The bathrooms, across the chaotic hotel lobby, looked as if a tornado had gone through. Was that urine or pool water on the floor? We went for my birthday. It was a disappointment. The old, smaller, more intimate, more classy H2O was what we were looking for. What we got was just a bunch of drunk hotel guests, wet from the pool, speaking loudly over the abrasive music."
