"My husband and I have LOVED Prime up until our last visit. The menu has recently changed drastically. We understand many restaurants change through the course of the year and both being in the restaurant industry ourselves, don’t fault a chef change when it happens. However, prices have become higher than they originally were for less meal. Steak prices used to be average to what you would find at another steak house a year ago, but our most recent time, they have increased by at least $30. That originally wasn’t an issue, as now the steaks came with sides, when previously you had to order them separately. However, the strip steak I ordered came with 2 fingerling potatoes cut in half and two mushrooms. My husbands 98 dollar ribeye came with maybe a handful of asparagus and 3 fork fulls of “potato purée”. If you are going to include these as sides, don’t make them just a garnish. It is extremely misleading. The steaks themselves were average at best. They were nothing special taste wise and my husband did not even eat half of his because half of his ‘medium rare’ steak was extremely undercooked. He did mention that the Red Robin onion straws, which weren’t mentioned on the menu, piled on top of it was an interesting touch. Overall, we were excited to try the new menu when we heard it was changing to be less of a special occasion place, and more of a reasonable restaurant. Instead we paid more money than we ever have at this restaurant, for a very disappointing meal. Our biggest takeaway is that we’re glad we have leftovers at home."
