"I rarely give poor reviews but I feel as though this business is deserving. This is the second time I’ve ordered takeout from Japonee in the past year. I was excited to give them a try as I’ve regarded their service and quality as top notch many years ago. Sadly, we walked away in great disappointment. We ordered 12 rolls. A third of the rolls were subpar, 2/3rds were raw or undercooked. Unfortunately, the eel(as presented in the first picture) was raw and grey. The tuna smelled like a nearly decomposing fish. The spicy tuna and shrimp were just not that tasty. They refused to refund any part of our order, even bringing in proof of only eating a couple of pieces.it’s quite disheartening as this is the first time either of us had ever “asked for a manager.” With both my partner and i having extensive knowledge of the food industry, with food service and chef work with certifications in food safety, it seemed like the right choice to make the chef aware that the seafood is not prepped correctly. From the mouth of the worker,” If it’s smells or tastes off, it’s because we import frozen fish and our prices reflect it.” Needless to say, we’re shocked. We left all of the food with the workers after paying to have it delivered and will never return. Put your money towards any of the amazing sushi places in Bloomington: Sushi bar, Asuka, ami, or even Kroger are fresher! So many great choices. Don’t allow your family to get poisoned by dangerous food."
