"Our waitress, although new, was fantastic and stood out as one of the best staff members we've encountered. She attended to our needs with genuine warmth and respect. We were seated at a table in front of the restaurant, which gave us a nice view of the kitchen at work or out the window.
We started with a pork egg roll, which was absolutely perfect and the highlight of our meal. I ordered the shrimp and chicken combination, while my husband chose the scallops and shrimp combination, along with broccoli, carrots, and fried rice. We added a side of scallops and broccoli as well. We also ordered iced tea, which was quite good and arrived promptly—within about four minutes.
However, the entrees left us a bit disappointed. With the first bite, it was clear that the food was not freshly prepared. The scallops were chewy, the shrimp a bit gummy, and the chicken was slightly dry and tough. It tasted as if it had been prepared earlier and simply reheated. While it was still decent, it could have been so much better if it had been served fresh—like leftover home-cooked meals.
Although we were disappointed and wanted to love everything about our dining experience, I still rated it five stars based on the excellent staff, the wonderful atmosphere, cleanliness, and my suspicion that the food is significantly better when it’s closer to opening time. We arrived at 3:00 PM, and they open at 11:00 AM, so we’re willing to give it another try."
