"I 've never been to Southside Deli before, didn 't even know it existed. Driven by it thousands of times but, well, no excuses. So when I found myself with a hungry tummy and a desire for a good sandwich, I didn 't expect Google to show me a place a block from SMH.Parking is tight in the area, 4 spaces right in front and more on Hillview but busy times are going to be .... an entertaining excerise.Or you can call your order in and pick it up at the drive-thru window. A drive-thru at a non-fast food restaurant? That 's nuts and terrific. The menu is displayed on several flat screens above the counter but they change kind of quickly so it took a few passes to read everything and make a decision. To say my muffuletta panini was 'hot off the press ' is both an understatement and a terrible pun. It was delivered to my table within 2 minutes of ordering and I couldn 't pick it up for a minute without risk of burning my fingers. This place is a well-oiled machine full of friendly staff. And it is really clean, it looked like it just opened at the start of the lunch rush.Once it cooled down a few notches it was a tasty sandwich. The olive tapenade was milder than on other muffulettas I 've had but still a good, fairly light lunch with a pickle spear on the side. And now that I know they 're there, I 'll be stopping in again.Plenty of space for the walker wheelchair crowd to navigate. The front door is wide and the tables seem well-spaced. Might be a touch tight getting to the bathrooms, though, as cases of drinks line the hallway."

"2 Stars for me, food was beyond a level I didn't expect being I've been before. My meal (Tullys Tender Dinner) was good. The Burger that my friend ordered was dried out, burnt, and overall bland. The Chicken Alfredo Dinner and broccoli was good, pasta semi uncooked, chicken was rubbery and felt like it was prepared prior to my arrival. Now on a service level, I can honestly say that in the 2 minutes you're interacting with a drive thru establishment would've had better service. Our waitress had to be excused, (she was great) her relief however was very pushy, adamant that we have dessert, took nearly an hour for 3 meals to arrive at our table. And we had gone during the slowest of days at the slowest hours. After we received our meals, it wasn't more than 5 minutes later that our waiter appeared and asked if we wanted to-go containers and if we were done. Not only did we feel like we were rushed, but the insistent every 5 minutes asking if we were done got annoying rapidly. Brought boxes anyways to our table without us requesting them. We ended up leaving without finishing any of the meals due to feeling like we were rushed and that we had to leave. (Keep in mind all of this happened at roughly 3-4:00pm on a Thursday) contemplating on whether or not it's worth returning too. But this is an honest review of an experience like most all over since the covid pandemic began."

"I honestly wish I could give no stars. I’ve been coming here for years and I’ve never once been treated the way I was treated today. I ordered online because I know the morning rush can be crazy and the phone number online said it was disconnected. When ordering online, I was asked to put in my email address to Google, and immediately began placing my order, Google auto filled everything even my credit card information so once I was done ordering, the only thing I needed to input was my CVV to my credit card. It literally did not ask me my name or anything. I arrive to Marvel Ranch I’m waiting patiently in line when it’s my turn I’m not even greeted or spoken to. I’m just looked at by the woman at the front counter. I politely let her know that I ordered online and she responds. “What’s the name?” I tell her my name and the shortened version of it assuming that’s what the order is under since it was auto filled from my email account, which is under my full name. She looks at the orders on the counter and tells me “well I don’t have that order” and proceeds to walk away NOT EVEN ATTEMPTING to find out the online order details. I’m picking this food up for my husband who has to be at work in 15 minutes so it’s really frustrating that her attitude and aura all around was just not good. She proceeds to tell me “it always asks for a name” as I continue to try to explain to her that everything was auto filled so I’m not sure what name it had if not my full name or the shorter version of my full name. So I tell her what I ordered and of course my order is RIGHT in front of her. As she goes to hand me the order she again said “it OBVIOUSLY asked you for your name” so again I tell her it didn’t… like why would I lie about that?! As I’m walking out she says to CUSTOMERS SITTING AT THE COUNTER “She’s dumb” so she’s lucky the only thing I did and responded was that no she in fact was dumb!I’m not one to do reviews, but I will NEVER spend a dollar at this establishment again due to her poor customer service and I will make sure to let my friends and families know about my encounter there. Posting this on Facebook instagram and Twitter so people know the kind of people they have to deal with at the front counter first thing in the morning."

"POST UPDATE: Received immediate reply from the owner (Kim) who apologized and explained the total I was charged was in error as the prior ticket had not been closed out. Kim said if I stopped back in, she would gladly reimburse the difference. I do have to say, the restaurant was very busy the day that I went (which was great), so I understand how an honest error could happen.Went back for the refund today and decided to get an order to go. Choose 2 catfish platters with onion rings and slaw…Freshly dropped in the fryer along w onion rings (which again, did not disappoint). It hit the spot! Happy to have a fried fish option close to home…Beats the long drive into town, and yes prices are very reasonable now that we figured out what happened! Think I will give that burger another shot on my next visit, but will make sure to order it ‘medium’.Nicest bonus is that the whole staff is so pleasant and friendly…..I appreciate that these days!Prior Post: I really REALLY wanted to like this place because it is literally around the corner which is MAJOR convenient, but regretfully I was sadly disappointed. Not in the staff or ambiance; that was spot on…..it was a little over priced in my opinion (burgers were overdone, fries were just frozen crinkle cut, and the Kimmie’s cake was nothing really to rave about, although the onion rings were good). I guess the prices on web pic menu’s were outdated and unfortunately I forgot my glasses so I couldn’t see the menu very well once I got there, but I ordered anyway so that was my fault. $45.00 for 2 burgers, 1 extra side onion rings, 1 slice of cake and 2 chicken tenders pieces (1.50 each… and they were very small), no drinks. No offense, but even Chili’s offers bottomless salsa w chips, burger, fries, and a drink for 11 bucks! I’m glad they are doing well, but I will take the 20 minute drive to HWY55 next time (which always has coupon offers), or Chili’s."
