"Sakura has been here in Richmond for a long time, and we've been there many times over the years. The taste of the food honestly depends on the chef you get we've been there 3 times in the last couple of months, and 1 time was fantastic, 1 was OK, and the last time the food was not very good. Historically, the food was consistently delicious, which is why we've been willing to pay the 50$ plate. But recently, a couple of the chefs are not as good as they were in the past they've mixed up the Steak and the Filet, they've over cooked the scallops and the salmon, they haven't seasoned the food as well, used less butter while cooking and more oil, under cooked the vegetables, etc. The sushi is still consistently delicious, but the Hibachi is hit and miss. If I go back, I'll be alert to which chef is there, and I'll be sure to get his name for reference. It would be great if the owner manager of the place sat at a table with guests during each of the chef's work occasionally and identified which chef(s) were under par."
