"Villari’s Lakeside has always been a fantastic place for fine dining. Food is always delicious and the service is always excellent as well. Our entrées were prepared perfectly and nicely flavored. we enjoyed the filet Oscar and the short rib Ragu with pasta. Our server was quite attentive and make sure our table was well served. We highly recommend dining at Villari’s as you’ll be sure to get a delicious meal to enjoy."

"We made a reservation and arrived on time, but no one acknowledged us. Finally, the manager looked at us and asked if we were waiting for a table. After waiting for 20 more minutes and at least six different staff members passing by us, we decided to leave. We never had the opportunity to taste the food, and we would not return due to the poor experience."

"I friend back home recommended this place. We made reservations for a casual Christmas dinner. We had an awesome 2 top in the front window with all the Lincoln Ave decorations lit up! Great service and food, and we so appreciated it on Christmas after a day of skiing! Italian cream sodas were the bomb, the wedge salad and bread was a great start, our entrees were delicious, and we had coffee and a fudge brownie sundae for dessert. What a wonderful Christmas Dinner!! Thank you!"

"Excellent! I am vegan and our waitress Amanda checked every item I was considering to make sure it was vegan friendly. I had the pasta with marinara and roasted portobello mushrooms. Very good! I also had marinated mushrooms and peppers. My dining mates has veal dishes and enjoyed them. For sure I will go back. Of note Amanda was the best waitress we have had in a long time."

"Great service, great food, and great drinks. Sat in the patio, 6 ft seating, heaters and patio lights on. Plenty of parking and across the street from a park, if you are looking for a post exercise spot. I ordered the gorgonzola burger, with mushrooms, bacon, onion, blue cheese/ gorgonzola and tomato jam protein style aka lettuce wrapped vs a bun. Delicious dipped in ranch. Crispy potato wedges selected as my side vs. Coleslaw or salad. Wedges were crispy, thick, warm, and seasoned well. Ketchup i want to say was a little spicy unless it was the fries and so tasty together. Ordered a skinny cucumber jalapeño margarita on the side that hit the spot. Highly recommend this spot. Also other gluten free options available which i hope to try next time. Enjoy and cheers"

"I was there for a gathering after a family funeral. Our drinks, bread, and salad were served quickly. We had a buffet lunch. Penne with vodka sauce; eggplant parmesean; sausage and peppers and chicken in a cream sauce. I had the penne, chicken and sausage which were all delicious. Cookies and cannoli were served with tea and coffee.The restaurant made you feel like you were in Italy. The wait staff came around to make sure you had everything.It was a nice place for the family to gather and talk after the funeral.Wheelchair accessibility: There is handicap parking in the front with a ramp into the restaurant."

"After a few drinks with friends at the nearby brewery I came here with a craving for pizza. The theme of the place was New York City and it was interesting to see the names of neighborhoods lining the walls and bridges in photos. I ordered two slices. They didn 't have a wide selection available, so I got one BBQ chicken and one margherita. They heated both slices and gave me a small box to go. The slices were decent, certainly comparable to New York places, but not the best New York places. "This is a great find for after work meetings. There is usually 7-10 of us and it provides a great location near our hotels for a walk to a wonderful place. The food is superb and when we come the manager makes every minute a delight. That have a great wait staff , knowledgeable and fun to deal with. We go at least once a month and the service and food gets better and better each time! We come to town every week for business and when the new guys come they always ask if this is the week we go? "I called the restaurant to explain the situation, but they dismissed my concerns and said, “Oh, we’ll refund you next time; just let us know.” I took the cup back to the restaurant to show them the soup. The staff member cringed when he smelled it too, but instead of addressing my concern, he started yelling at me as if I were the problem. If you own a food service establishment and someone brings a serious issue like this to your attention, you should be alarmed, not defensive. It was clear that something had gone horribly wrong with my soup. Honestly, I wish there were a better way to hold the entire staff accountable instead of just writing this review, but it seems that’s not the case. I cannot emphasize enough how terrible that soup was. Do not eat here! I will never return!"

"I was in town with friends for the Wineglass marathon and we were searching for a pasta dinner the night before the race. The reviews are mostly good with a a couple bad ones sprinkled in that we were concerned about but since this is the only Italian restaurant within at least 30 minutes, we took the gamble. The food was disappointing to say the least. The homemade pasta was angel hair from a box and the chicken parm was so thick/tough (not pounded out at all) that it was inedible. The prices were also extremely high given the quality of food (we were actually up charged for said homemade pasta even though we were told it came with the entrees). I feel bad writing this but it was such a disappointing meal when we needed something to fuel us for the next day. Take out pizza would have been a better option."

"There are several entrances, we didn't know about the side entrance so we parked on the street and went in the front. We were there kind of early for dinner so they were not busy at all, however they sat us in a small room up a couple steps next to a very loud family. I understand putting the customers close make it easy on the servers however it made for a very unpleasant dining experience for us. That family asked to be seated on ground level to avoid the older lady with a cane having to navigate the steps but the hostess told them loud enough for us to hear the 2 steps should be ok for her to go up. The restaurant was decorated beautifully and appeared clean. They had a sign up with the soup of the day however that soup was not available the server said they ran out of that earlier. Our server was very nice but not attentive at all. I asked about their wine options to which she said she was sorry she was not old enough to serve alcohol so she was ask a coworker but nerver had anyone come talk to us about it. Our daughter ordered an appitizer and a soup but they were brought out after our meals were served. The dirty salad, bread plates and empty bread basket sat on our table the whole time we ate our entrees. The salad bar was very nice with a wide variety from fruits and vegetables to prepared salads. There was a friendly lady making sure it was kept clean, fresh and full. I would have felt better had she been masked and had on gloves but that was not how she was. I understand masks are not mandatory in Iowa however with Covid being on the rise masks for servers would be a good idea, however none of them wore them. The pasta was very fresh and cooked perfectly, it was fresh hot and very balanced. The soup was warm and ok. The cheese sticks were fresh and house made they were very good, they were hot and had a nice cheese pull, the marinara they were served with was very good and paired well. The chicken was house made, it was hot and crunchy but the crust was very salty. The mashed potatoes and gravy were not good at all, they both appeared to be your average instant so I would suggest maybe sticking to the Italian dishes."

"False advertisement and was unwilling to adhere to what they had flashing across the window. My son went in asking for their 2 slice special wich included a can of soda. The cashier advised they didn't have it anymore. My son returned to the car advising they didn't have it. I went in to ensure which special he was referring to. The cashier found it to be humorous and laughed while saying the sign was old. If that be the case, unplug the sign. I left and took my son to pizza hut which was more than the special. Wasn't about the money, but more about how the cashier handled the situation. I could have gone with the price increasing, but to make a mockery of the situation was an issue for me. I won't go back there ever and I'm letting my family know that referred me."

"Horrible experience the last two times we have been in this restaurant. Rude and nasty person behind the counter changes a 3.5% service charge for using a credit card, does not put any sauce on a meatball sub but charges for extra sauce and charges if you get more than one drink refill. In addition, the pizza has gone downhill and is just a greasy mess that will hurt your stomach. Stay far, far away from this place and give any other italian place, your hard earned money. The staff rudeness is beyond anything that I have ever experienced, and I will never give this establishment another dime! In addition, this place had NO heat for the entire winter and tried to heat the dining with portable heaters and dangerous extension cords throughout the diner area. Definitlely illegal and a health code violation! I honestly can't state how poor and rude the service is and I beg everyone to try a different italian/pizza place. Worst experience that I have ever had at a restaurant. They do not deserve your business! Run to another upstanding business!"
