"Here’s a rundown of what I enjoyed there: the Pea and Lentil Samosas were incredibly tasty! They reminded me a bit of the Indian version but with a unique twist. (See picture) The Vegetarian ALICHA was fantastic. I could happily eat vegetarian dishes every day and never tire of it. (See picture) We also tried the Chicken with hard-boiled eggs (Doro Wat), Lamb (Sega Wat), and Beef dishes. They were very spicy but not overwhelmingly hot—just delicious! (See picture) The beef tartare, known as KITFO, was served with IAB (yogurt cheese). I’m not really a fan of raw meat, so I opted to try it cooked. It was good, though I realized it's more a reflection of my personal taste than a comment on the restaurant itself—I’d probably stick with the vegetarian options in the future. (See picture) The ambiance is reminiscent of a café in a developing country, but the warmth and friendliness of the staff made up for it. Service can be a bit slow, but after the hustle and bustle outside, it felt like a nice change of pace. You can tell the owners and servers genuinely care; they treat you like a person, not just a number. They patiently answered all our questions and made us feel at ease, especially as we navigated a cuisine we weren't familiar with. My dad can be tough to please, so if he felt at home, I knew the place was a hit—otherwise, he’d let me know for days! One fun tip: when you dine here, be prepared to forget about utensils and use the traditional Injera bread to scoop up your food with your fingers. While I don’t care for Injera on its own, it’s divine when paired with their spreads! The platters are quite large, taking up most of the table space, so the traditional method of eating is very practical. However, if you ask, the staff will gladly provide additional plates and utensils. Interestingly, although it’s an Ethiopian restaurant, they don’t serve Ethiopian beer—which you can easily find at a nearby convenience store. Fortunately, they were cool enough to let me bring in my own beer to enjoy with my meal. Prices are very reasonable, and I love to share a variety of two or three dishes with friends, making it ideal for a small group; I can’t eat all that by myself! Parking is easy on Sundays since there are no restrictions, although it's street parking only. They do take reservations and are accommodating for larger parties. They even set up a special area for a group I hosted once. Overall, I highly recommend giving this restaurant a try—you might be pleasantly surprised!"

"If you want great Ethiopian food, this is the place for you. It is real Ethiopian food and you will feel like you are there. They don't try to Americanize it, it is just great. When you walk in you are over taken by the wonderful smell of spices and fresh food. You just want to eat and eat a lot. They have a great menu and there is not a bad thing on it. Many of the dishes comes with the traditional flat spongy bread that you use to eat your food. I think they have forks if you want, but the bread is the best way to eat this magical food. Queen of Sheba is in a little strip mall and it does not look special on the outside, but wait until you walk in. Parking can be trying. There is a lot right in front but there are a few places in this little mall. None the less, give it a minute and spot will open. Cars come and go pretty fast. There is also some street parking but mind the signs--those tickets are expensive. It is right on La Brea, a big street that goes for the most part north and south. Just stay on La Brea. The inside is warm and relaxing. You are never rushed and the service is perfect. They will help you with the menu if you need. They get your order right and it is served so pretty and hot. We love their Doro Wet Chicken stew which is just chicken stew slowly cooked in a rich flavor of herbs, spice and chili. I have to eat mild food now and they are always able to help me out. I miss the spicier food, but my body says don't even think about it. Their Chicken Tlbis White is melt in your mouth wonderful with lots of chicken fried in purfied butter and seasoned so wonderfully. Also, try their Vegetarian Combination which is a delightful combination of yemesir wot, yater alicha, gomen, cabbage and salad. You can't go wrong with any of these dishes. My grandson loves their penne pasta which is made in Ethiopian style pasta and sauce. It is a great way to start a kid off with Ethiopian food. He always orders it. I prefer the more traditional dishes. The prices are fair and you get a lot of food. It is a happy place.
