"When we arrived for our 5:30 reservation there were very few people in the restaurant and the noise level was only too loud due to the piped in music. We asked our server if he would turn down the music, when he graciously did. But that lasted only a few minutes. by 6:00 the place was packed and it seemed the more people came in the louder the music got. It was so bad the 4 of us had to shout to hear each other. The food was very good. Shared a delicious beet salad between two of us. Other appetizers at our table were the soup and the green salad, all very good. After an extremely long wait the entrees of 2 chicken orders and 2 sole orders arrived. They were also very good. Dessert was a chocolate toffee sundae and strawberry shortcake. Again, both were very good. Overall, Alta was very good for its food. Service was a little slow, due to what appeared to me to be our server having to cover too many tables. Also, the kitchen was slow to prepare our entrees. Negatives were the noise and the slow service."

"The ambiance is semi dark and the music is basey. The servers wear all black and the atmosphere is sorta like a dressed up vampire lair. We weren’t impressed the first time we came here, but now we knew what to expect. The steak and the salmon we Excellent. We will come back again."

"Decent place! After a nice sunrise photo shoot of the City and bridge, my girlfriend and I stopped by this place since we haven 't tried it yet. She got the eggs Benedict, I got the French toast. They were good, but nothing special. The decor was what is most fun about this place. I don 't think the menu prices are completely accurate as it says on the table for menu , so look at the pictures I posted."

"During my visit to Dumpling House in San Francisco, I had the opportunity to try a variety of dishes, including the crystal shrimp dumpling, fresh shrimp with pork dumpling, cream custard bun, Original XLB, shrimp toast, and pan-fried turnip cake. While some dishes stood out, the overall experience was somewhat mediocre with nothing particularly impressive.The cream custard bun and shrimp toast were the highlights of the meal. The cream custard bun had a delightful, rich filling, while the shrimp toast offered a tasty combination of flavors. However, the other dishes failed to leave a lasting impression and were lacking the wow factor.The service at Dumpling House was average, and the ambiance of the restaurant was pleasant enough for a casual dining experience."

"It was two of us and we ordered the $18 barbeque boneless chicken (20 pc). The chicken hit the spot of what we were looking for. It was well cooked, a little bit dry. Good flavor, did not need the blue cheese or ranch as the barbeque recipe held very well on its own. We also ordered a long island, which was well made and good strength. The inside is very nice and I enjoyed the crowd on a Monday night. Our server was clearly overworked, serving the entire place and bartending which was a shame to see. Although they tried claiming that boneless and bone in wings are priced the same And attempted to charge my card for $30 instead of menu $18 price while arguing with me until they realized either they were wrong or could no longer try to get $30. It could have been an honest mistake given they were overworked, but this gives insight on what one may experience here. I would definitely come back regardless as the price and quality of food and drink was quite a surprise, and bonus for being a very active Monday night joint."

"My husband and I recently dined here for the first time, and we can't wait to return. The food and service were outstanding. The young man at the register was incredibly polite and friendly. I had the dinghy wrap, while my husband ordered the Reuben, and both were delicious. I highly recommend this place!"
