"Well, I don't know about the other items on the menu. However, I ordered the chicken masala with garlic mashed potatoes and spinach. The chicken masala was some sort of rubbery meat swimming in a pint of oil(lard? , NOT SAUCE OR GRAVY. The spinach was entirely a bunch of spinach strings(no leafs . The reheated potatoes were not much better with large chunks left unmashed. Clearly, the cook did not do a good job. $25.00 plus tip in the garbage. One last observation: While waiting, I saw 3 or 4 people send their food back for one reason or another."

"National is one of my favorite places in the Bronx. I often find myself spending quite a bit here because I truly appreciate the staff and the delicious food. Their freshly baked goods are absolutely tempting. I highly recommend trying the tuna melt and the patty melt! However, honestly, everything I’ve eaten here has exceeded my expectations. "Lunch was fantastic! The BLT was spot on, and I always request crispy bacon – they nailed it! The bacon was cooked to perfection, and the tomatoes were incredibly fresh. The sandwiches were just the right size, so I could comfortably take a bite, yet the portions were generous. The service was quick, and our waitress Liz was not only friendly but also very attentive and personable. The restaurant was clean, and the retro decor added a nice touch. If you haven't tried the Blue Moon Cafe yet, you definitely should. Great food, reasonable prices, and excellent service!"

"We went for breakfast on a Sunday morning. It was empty so we were seated quickly. We were greeted almost immediately by our server and started with just some coffee. We decided on scrambled eggs with cheese, grits and Canadian bacon. I asked for cheddar with my eggs but I don't think that's what I got. I only eat cheddar on my eggs so unless it was some exotic, overseas and organic cheddar, that wasn't cheddar. It was very bitter and tart and I just wound up scraping it off my eggs so I could get through my meal. It tasted between provolone ans swiss. But the rest of the meal was enjoyable. Despite the heat wave outside it was comfortable inside and as customers began to trickle in you could see this was a favorite local spot. The restroom was clean and well stocked with paper towels and tissue. And we were even gifted a small box of cookies when we left."

"I've tried ordering from here several times. The food is really good, but the delivery takes an incredibly long time. They keep pushing back the delivery estimate, so it typically ends up taking more than an hour to arrive. I’ve had to call each time just to get an update."

"Very nice decor, big and roomy dining area. Diner has a sizable parking lot on premises. Service was great, friendly and professional. "The staff was welcoming and friendly, but unfortunately, the breakfast did not meet my expectations and seemed overpriced for what it was. The pancakes were greasy and overcooked, the toast was barely toasted, the grits were too watery, and the waffle was soggy. I also paid an additional $4 for fruit, which amounted to just two slices of strawberry. On a brighter note, the coffee was quite good. "I found the plain bagel I had here to be excessively doughy. I'm not a professional baker, but I suspect that they didn't let the dough proof long enough. My spouse tried a sesame bagel sandwich, and while that bagel was slightly less doughy than mine, both were still too hard, in my opinion as a semi-expert bagel reviewer. I much prefer the bagels at Alfa Bagels in Randolph (though they might use a bit too much sugar for some) and Mountain Lakes Bagel and Deli (even if the staff there often seem a bit out of it). We don't visit this place often because of an incident involving a young woman who worked here a few years ago. Overall, I would rate these bagels at 2.5 stars on my bagel scale, but I'll round it up to a three since the baker wished us a nice day as we left."
