"So unprofessional. I went with my in-law's (mom, dad, sis) my husband and our son for his Kindergarten graduation... we sat and waited, and waited. Mind you the only reason that we went there was because we were noticing that all of the breakfast places were getting filled up FAST, we had originally tried IHOP, and the Majestic on Merrick Road in Freeport. When we got our drinks they weren't what we ordered. When we were done we couldn't find the guy to give us our check. So we waited like 10 mins, then I acted like we were leaving (I got my son and we left the restaurant, but everyone else stayed behind) and don't you know that he was sitting somewhere acting like he was doing something, he jumped so fast that my husband was right behind us as we got to the parking lot."

"First time here since COVID, all I wanted was a burger so I can't judge the dinner specials which used to be very good. The burger was disappointing. I asked for well done and it was well done around the outer part. In the center it was a medium rare, which makes me think it was from frozen beef. And it tasted bland, not beefy. The bun had seeds on top, that I couldn't scrape off, and it was white bread that became soggy from the hot burger. I can't eat fries so I ordered a baked potato wasn't on the menu as an option). The baked potato I had was wrapped in foil, wasn't baked because the skin was soft, and there was a small black spot in one corner, which can happen sometimes. My girlfriend had a turkey sandwich and she said the turkey didn't taste from fresh cooked breast, rather more like deli turkey. She had fries which were nice. She was very thirsty afterwards. The seats in the booth were too low and worn out, making the table too high for me as I'm only 5'3. The wait staff was good, but when I requested more coffee, he took my mug to the pot, handling it, rather than bring a carafe to pour at the table. Not very sanitary in my opinion. Unfortunately, I won't be back."

"This café is truly exceptional and one-of-a-kind, offering freshly prepared meals and beverages. Situated on the first floor of a medical building, it features seating with tables for a comfortable dining experience. They also have a selection of freshly baked cookies and other baked goods. The prices are reasonable, and the staff is friendly and courteous. The atmosphere is distinctive and inviting."

"Famous historical cafe that was a favourite hangout of Kerouac, featured in the Godfather, Shaft and Serpico, and had JFK do a speech outside once too. Apparently had the first espresso machine in the USA imported from Italy, which is still on display today, and was also the first place in America to serve cappuccino. Very traditional and historic feeling inside with over 80 separate artworks, including a painting from the school of Caravaggio. Worth a visit for all the reasons above, but also the coffee is great, the prices are reasonable and the service is also good."

"My husband and I discovered this restaurant while on vacation, and it was a delightful find. As soon as we walked in, we were greeted by a gentleman playing acoustic guitar, which set a wonderful ambiance. The service was excellent, and everyone was incredibly friendly. The highlight of our experience was the authentic German cuisine. My husband chose the sampler, which included everything from schnitzel to spätzle. We also indulged in a delicious raspberry chocolate cake. I highly recommend this restaurant."

"I will NEVER return to this place. My friend and I visited the bar because they knew the band that was performing. I had just moved back to New York and was still using my Arizona driver's license. When I ordered a drink, the bartender inspected my ID and claimed it was fake, saying, “You’re lucky I don’t take this from you.” I was taken aback and replied, “Excuse me??!” She was convinced it was a fake, and I suggested she take it and call the police to verify its authenticity. Instead, she asked me what address was on my ID and gave me barely a moment to respond. Just as I was about to answer, she dismissed me with, “Yeah, it’s fake, but I’ll get you your drink,” and tossed the ID back. At that point, I wanted nothing to do with this bar anymore. I told her not to bother with the drink and that I would be leaving a negative review. She responded with an attitude, claiming to be the manager, which I later found out was a lie; her boyfriend is actually the manager. Besides dealing with this extremely rude woman, the atmosphere was very politically charged, with Trump stickers everywhere you look. I will definitely not be coming back to this place."

"Terrible, we went to this restaurant for the first time and when we wanted to pay the guy made us wait a moment to pay because according to the internet it was bad (like 3 times) which my mom and I verified and they had already charged us, the guy She told us no and when we tried again it came out that it was Declined and we thought it was strange since before going there my mother 's card was perfectly working, so when I paid, there was no problem. The food is nothing out of this world and very expensive for only a few things. After using my card there I went to another store to make a purchase and it also turned out for my Declined, when I also had money, I was very careful about going to this restaurant. I feel like they let us down and the food was nothing out of this world."

"We stopped into The Grey Dog for lunch because our first lunch spot had too long of a wait and it was close by. Unfortunately, I wish we had traveled a bit further to find another restaurant because we left The Grey Dog disappointed. We ordered the fried tofu appetizer, crispy rice bowl with tofu, and the fried chicken sandwich with greens. The fried tofu dish wasn’t bad. It came with a creamy cilantro sauce and balsamic vinegar. I didn’t think the balsamic vinegar paired well with the tofu but was happy with the cilantro sauce. The fried chicken sandwich wasn’t bad but also wasn’t anything to write home about. The best thing on the plate was the fries, and I didn’t even ask for them. I asked for greens and they had mixed up my order, but I give them a pass because our server offered to bring out a complementary plate of greens which I politely declined. The crispy rice bowl was not good at all. There didn’t seem to be much cohesion of the dish since none of the ingredients seemed to go well together. I particularly found the giant slop of cherry tomatoes unappetizing. Overall, I was fairly disappointed in our visit to The Grey Dog. In a city like Manhattan I expected long-standing restaurants to be worth their salt but quickly realized mediocre establishments exist everywhere. The only consolation of The Grey Dog was that their portions sizes were quite generous."

"2. The Everything Bagel, a classic New York City favorite, was generously topped with poppy and sesame seeds. It also doesn't come with any toppings, but I found it to be delicious filled with pastrami, eggs, and avocado (which I picked up from a nearby shop). Plus, it's quite affordable compared to many other bagel places. 3. The Breaded Chicken Cutlet Sandwich was my absolute favorite, and it was impressively large. At just $9, it was a hearty meal packed with quality ingredients you'd expect from a good chicken sandwich. I highly recommend it if you're looking for a sandwich that's not only tasty but also healthy enough to potentially save for another meal. 4. The Potato Latkes were as straightforward as one could imagine. It was my first time trying latkes, and true to their name as potato pancakes, they tasted exactly as expected. For someone like me who loves potato-based dishes, they were a fantastic win."

"I rarely write reviews because I 'm a busy career woman, but I 've had two incredibly terrible and beyond negative experiences here. I live in the neighborhood and am always looking to support local businesses. Both times I 've came here, the manager has been so rude and unhelpful.The first time I arrived I bought a sandwich. Instead of charging me a combo/meal sandwich, he decided to individually charge me for every single topping, which resulted in an extremely mediocre, overpriced hero sandwich. The entire time I had to ask him a bunch of questions about pricing and he made snarky remarks about how he decides what to charge because "he 's the manager he sets the price. "The second time was worse in terms of customer service. I asked for a sandwich and he proceeds to tell me they are out of lettuce. Then, he retracts his statement and says he has lettuce but it 's 75 cents extra. IS HE JUST TRYING TO SQUEEZE MONEY OUT OF PEOPLE? It 's not about the money, it 's about the disrespectful tone and the lack of kind customer service. I got so frustrated by his lackluster attitude and disrespect, so I simply walked out.All in all, the manager in this establishment is extremely rude and inconsiderate and they have terrible customer service. This interaction truly ruined my day and I do not recommend coming here. I will not ever be returning."

"I decided to try this restaurant since Sapore is no longer an option, but unfortunately, I was quite disappointed. I ordered a sandwich, and it arrived as a panini instead. The chicken cutlets were tough and hard to enjoy. The eggplant parmigiana came without pasta, which I could overlook, but at $12.99 for a lunch portion, it felt overpriced. As for the rice balls, I’m not sure you can really call them that, as mine consisted of just 1.5 pieces (they were cut in half; who serves rice balls this way?). The only highlight was the cannoli, which had a fantastic cream filling."

"The Blackforest cake is perfect. I’ve never had a better one and I’ve had a lot in my life (I’m German) BUT: they always put a sticker on the box saying you should put it into the fridge right until you eat it (probably to avoid lawsuits): DON‘T! It’s a thousand times better at room temperature and that’s how we eat it in Germany."
