"Incredible, affordable food! Navigating the menu can be a bit daunting for someone who doesn't speak Spanish, but the experience was worth it. The staff may speak limited English, but they were incredibly warm and patient with my girlfriend and me. After pointing at pictures and various foods on display, we ordered some soup and a meat dish served over rice. The flavors were bold and satisfying, leaving us completely fulfilled after the meal. I've visited this restaurant several times during my stay in New York, and I appreciate that the menu changes slightly each day. The "soup of the day" is also rotated, so there's always something new to try. I absolutely love the soups they offer; you can tell they've been simmered for a long time, achieving a perfect balance of flavors and a wonderful consistency. It truly feels like something a Spanish grandmother would prepare for her grandchildren on a cozy Sunday afternoon, overflowing with love."

"Wow, everything was so delicious! The decor is beautiful, and while the service could use some improvement, the food truly made up for it. I wouldn’t recommend the pollo guisado, as it wasn’t that impressive, but the bistec was excellent, especially with the tostones. This Dominican bistro is tucked away in a less-traveled area of Brooklyn, which makes it special since the food quality is top-notch. The drinks were also delightful, all offered at an affordable price. It's a great spot to bring your friends, family, partner, or a date to enjoy Puerto Viejo."

"I would like to share my experience as a family man coming to eat here.. the food was excellent. The natural juices were very well made.. the server was polite and friendly.. The food came out very quickly!.. The only thing that I can complain about was the loud music.. If you go here and you want to be able to talk to your family or friends or children while you're eating, try to sit towards the front where they have the booths.. Don't let them sit you in the back near the DJ.. the music will be too loud for you to be able to talk.. The other thing that I didn't really like was the birthday songs. Every time someone had a birthday song, the DJ played a very loud birthday song along with the servers.. Don't get me wrong. I know it's people's birthday but it's a little over the top with the instruments and the DJ.. other than that I would definitely go back but not with my family.. it's too bad because they would get more business if they were more a family oriented restaurant /bar.. but it seems like they're trying to be a nightclub too much while people are trying to enjoy their meal.. One last thing that I personally didn't like is when you are finish eating and you want to take your leftovers they make it so that you do it yourself.. personally with the amount of money that I spent which was not cheap at all.. I would expect them to pack my leftovers for me like a higher end restaurant would.. and trust me, you're basically paying the same thing..I spent $160.. The least they can do is pack my leftovers.. I had to stop everything that I was doing and pack food in a tiny table.. To me that just looks a little low class.. But that is my opinion.."

"The staff was incredibly friendly, and the food was delicious and served promptly. They were very attentive, almost as if they could anticipate my needs. Although the restaurant is located on a busy street, they offer valet parking, which is convenient. The flavors truly transported me to the Dominican Republic. Food: 5/5."

"I recently visited this restaurant for the first time and was really impressed by the food. My coworkers and I were craving Spanish cuisine, so I placed an order for all of us. The empanadas were freshly made to order and absolutely delicious. We also enjoyed the Morir Soñando, a refreshing Spanish orange drink that was fantastic. I didn't take any photos of our meals, but we are definitely planning to come back!"

"I ordered the pollo de mangú with rice, and I literally got food poisoning from it. It's been a week and a half to two weeks and I'm still suffering from the after effects. They seem to have fronted about taking the fresh chicken and cutting it up. It seems like they gave me days old dry chicken. Hence why I got food poisoning. If my review gets deleted by the owners I will for sure report them to the health department. Because this is ridiculous. I suffer with bowel issues already and now I'm suffering even more now. I have the doctor report of being food poisoned as well. It was Not worth the 25 dollars."
