"My family stopped by for brunch at Medium Rare in Washington DC after much recommendation. The dining room was hip and trendy but had those rustic touches. From our table we had a nice view of the kitchen where we can see various meals being prepared. The brunch menu was concise, eliminating the indecision that can come from having too many options on the menu. Our party opted for the 90 minute bottomless brunch and from there, our brunching began! Hot and crunchy bread was served which was a nice intro, though it hardened over time and made it a bit more difficult to chew. Nonetheless it was still both fresh good. The bread comes with butter only but upon request, the servers can provide balsamic and olive oil to elevate the flavor. For my main, I had to get their steak frites due to the sole fact the restaurant is called ‘Medium Rare’. This turned out to be the star of the brunch. The steak was delicious, juicy and accompanied by their ‘secret’ sauce which was excellent. The steak came with fries that were thin and crispy. Exactly what you’d expect from restaurant quality fries. While the portion size may be on the smaller side, it felt just right, emphasizing quality over quantity. Medium Rare's commitment to a focused menu shows in their finessed dishes and careful execution. I’d say this location is a family friend choice for a memorable brunch in DC."
