"My mother enjoyed a trip to Uzbekistan many years ago, making it a Uzbek restaurant in the city was fascinating. The place is beautifully decorated, but was not busy for lunch on a Saturday. Our server was very helpful to explain the different dishes and my knowledge some of the Russian equivalents was also helpful. We have ordered a number of dishes and common taste. First was bread, Non, that was very good. At first, Chuchvara, meat dumplings were in a clear broth that was like Russian Pelmeni. It came with a homemade yogurt that was excellent. Next, Chebureki, a roasted meat cake, was also excellent. We shared an Achiichuk salad, the traditional Usbek salad. My wife had the Uzbek Palov, who was very good. I had a beef cabob and a chicken cabob, both very good. Spicing was different from other kabobs I know and it was all good. We ended up trying her baklava, made with pecans, which was very good. We could get it back here before we leave the area. There's more to try. They put reserved signs on many tables when we left, so it looks like we could have entered a large group. This is good to see as we want a unique place like this to be successful. We don't mind that the Uzbek music video station they played on TV added it to the feeling of being somewhere else."
