"My wife and I ate here a year ago and were told that a several items were gluten free (such as the mashed potatoes, Colombian (corn) empanadas, and plantains). All of these items are also listed on their menu as being in gluten free or served as part of dishes that are listed as gluten free. Not that they can be made gluten free — but that they are gluten free. We returned this year and were told by our server that those items are actually deep fried in the same oil as everything else. I don’t think anyone with food allergen experience would suggest that food that has been deep fried with gluten is gluten free. The food is fine enough, but it was disappointing to learn that the restaurant either became less celiac friendly or provided inaccurate allergy information on the menu and the first time we visited."
