"Three of us had dinner in a smaller room off from the large main room. There was another table of five women also in this room. We had nice seats, a quieter room, and excellent service. We decided to split two appetizers and two main courses between us. The carrot slaw was plentiful and a nice counterpoint to the leek and scallion dumplings (Aushak). The braised lamb and greens gave us a nice amount of tender lamb, greens, and plenty of rice. Our vegetarian stew (Baadenjaan Karahi) was a rich contrast to the more simple spices of the lamb dish. Our server was very attentive, supplying us all with small plates and extra spoons for serving. We enjoyed full glasses of wine or beer along with our meal. It was a very nice evening together."

"One of the best restaurants we've ever eaten in. It is more than a restaurant it is a food experience. We started with 3 appetizers. They provide you with 4 sauces and flat bread. Then we got entrees and shared them. Everything was so delicious. You can't go wrong. Our waiter was Zack (the owners son). He was super attentive, funny and helped in our food choices. We ended with saffron tea and the rice pudding. The waite staff was always there to clear dishes, fill water glasses and meet any needs we had. Everything was so delicious and was moderately priced so that anyone can enjoy the great food. The room decor created a lovely atmosphere for enjoying the meal making it an event. Best food ever. Run don't walk there!"

"It's really shocking to see any of the negative reviews about this place. My boyfriend I frequent Babur as much as we can and every meal has been fresh and delicious. The staff is also extremely coutreous the last time I was there I had a big take out order and one of the waiters offered to carry it out to my car for me. It's a great alternative if you're looking to try out a new restaurant in Monmouth County it's really a hidden gem!"

"This was my first time ordering from this restaurant, and I opted for takeout. A coworker highly recommended it, and since I’ve never tried Afghan cuisine before, I was excited! I have to say, it was incredible! I ordered the Lamb Lawand, and it was so tender that it practically fell apart. The rice was bursting with flavor, and the spinach was exceptional! Plus, there was plenty of bread! The entire meal was absolutely delicious. When I picked up my order, the staff was friendly and courteous, and the atmosphere was comfortable and inviting. Overall, it was an excellent experience! I can't wait to order again and explore more items on the menu!"

"I want to start by mentioning that the food portions are shrinking while prices are increasing. Today, I placed a takeout order and added extra chickpeas, as they're my daughter's favorite. However, when I got home, I discovered that the chickpeas were missing. I called the restaurant to request a refund to my card, but the woman on the phone refused. She suggested I either come to pick them up or wait until my next order, when she would give them to me. This meant I had to drive 10 miles back and forth. When I arrived, I was frustrated because I had driven that distance only to end up with cold food. Additionally, I was given the smallest container of chickpeas for $5. The staff didn’t even make any effort to compensate for the inconvenience. I will not be returning to this restaurant again."
