"I recently visited Izakaya Takasei and had a mixed experience. My boyfriend and I ordered the takoyaki, chicken cutlet and egg rice bowl, several yakitori, takowasabi (raw octopus with wasabi), and the Kobe beef roll. While the takoyaki and yakitori were delicious, the chicken cutlet and egg rice bowl was really bland. The Kobe beef roll was a bit odd with the combination of garlic butter and tataki sauce. Unfortunately, there were also a few items on the menu that were no longer available, which was a bit disappointing. It would be good for the restaurant to update their menu to avoid any confusion or disappointments. While the food at Izakaya Takasei comes out quickly, this can also be a double-edged sword. During my visit, my boyfriend and I received several dishes at once, which meant that a lot of our food was sitting out and getting cold while we were eating the others. It would be great if the kitchen could pace the dishes better to ensure that everything is served at the optimal temperature. The service was a bit lackluster as well. The only time we were able to ask for condiments, utensils, and more water was when the employees brought our food out. No one checked on us throughout our meal, and it would have been nice to have a more attentive staff. On the plus side, the restaurant has nice Japanese decor and is quite spacious. However, there was no background music, which made the ambiance a bit dull.Overall, while there were some drawbacks, Izakaya Takasei may be worth checking out if you're in the area and in the mood for some Japanese cuisine. Just be sure to join the wait-list on Yelp beforehand and check in with the host when you arrive."

"Visit quite often and usually love taking my kids for a great show and meal. Today was definitely the worst ever trip. Gave 1 star experience but gave 2 stars as our Server Romona was awesome for how busy she was, she was everywhere but our drinks always got the correct attention on refills. Was sat about 6:15-6:20pm tonight 3/22/23. After about 35 minutes our server told us she needed us to move to a different spot as she was trying to close the area we where seated. As we finished picking up our belongings and got out of our seats to finally start moving over the hostess comes in and seats others right where we where asked to move, so frustrating putting in the effort. After 45, probably closer to 50 minutes waiting for our chef he finally comes. Like I said before the show is one reason I like to take my kids which we had the most boring unexciting chef ever. No personality, no talking to us, very bland experience that I wish I would of just asked to sit in a booth for. Then during our dinner service we where asked about how we wanted our steak temperature. My daughter had asked for medium rare, I asked for medium well. When it's time for him to start serving the steak he plates my daughters, then instantly plates mine which added to the frustration as there is no way that one plate had medium rare and the other had medium well when he severed off the same pile of steak he had cooked all together. Then when he serves my youngest kids meal plate of teriyaki steak I notice he doesn't add any other sauces to hers over our Azuma steak we ordered on the other two plates. At the point of waiting and getting shuffled around with kids to end up in the same spot I was just ready to head home. I feel if I would of voiced my feelings before getting a chance to cool off after spending almost $80 on a meal which my experience sucked sorry for the lack of words it would of been over escalated. Probably going to be some time before I can rebuild my courage to come back for another attempt as I feel I could of had a better experience spending $20 at McDonald's for our meals. Like I said before the server was the only bit of good this evening and she definitely deserves 5 stars as she was definitely trying her best with being what looked to be over worked compared to the other server working."

"Me and my bestie found this spot thru instagram they had a promo going for AYCE sushi, let me just say the hours were a pain between our work schedules but we were determined to pay a visit. We came on a rainy Tuesday evening, parking is free in an open plaza and we were greeted and seated right away. Our server Antonio was awesome he was kind, attentive and he explained the way there menu works. For each individual you can order 3 items each so a total of 6 at a time in each row. For premium once you get to the second row they start charging and you have to pay per item. Luckily for us we didn't want premium items. We start off with water and jasmine tea, I should've went with a milk tea. The jasmine tea was very much more like water than tea flavor but at least it wasn't powdered like the green tea. I order a miso soup, salad and crunch roll. My friend had a rainbow roll, a avocado salmon roll and beef udon. The miso soup was good, the salad was ok. The dressing wasn't really all that great. The crunch roll was a bit awkward, the crunch was like regular bread crumbs so they weren't soft at all it was scraping the roof of my mouth like when you eat dry cereal and the inside had fried shrimp not tempura but actual fried shrimp. I'm use to crunch rolls having regular not fried or tempura shrimp inside and the crunch is usually Panko breadcrumbs so it's soft and flaky with a tad crunch not bag of chips hard. My friend enjoyed her rolls but the beef udon the meat had to much fat but she still enjoyed it nevertheless. Round 2 I order baked shrimp and crab roll, with shoyu ramen. My friend orders baked scallop roll, and some oyster dish. She enjoyed both of her dishes. My shoyu ramen was good no complaints but I'm sure the tonkotsu would've been better. The baked rolls were so good but make sure to double check they remove the poo vein if that's something that you don't want to eat, I had to remove a couple. Final round she gets an eel roll, I order a baked salmon and lobster roll with chicken teriyaki. We enjoyed all our rolls but each one always just had a con instead of them being perfect but the taste was still there. For me the lobster was rough which is why I probably prefer crab or langostino and they went heavy on the spicy mayo because there was way to much in comparison to the last few rolls I had. The worst thing I ordered that night was the chicken teriyaki but I loved that the Robo waiter drops it off to you, it's so cute I love it! The chicken teriyaki you could tell was dark meat but one bite and it tasted like when you leave old meat uncovered in the freezer and they don't season it, just cook it and add sauce. When I say this dish ruined my appetite I was done after this one absolutely disgusting. Thank Antonio for us! He was nice enough to handle that for me because I'm not a believer in wasting food but it was gross. Oh and the biggest pet peeve con I had was in every single roll there was a gigantic piece of cucumber and I had to keep spitting it out. I'm not a fan of cucumber but most places slice them very thin so when I eat them I can't taste it, this spot was like HERE! chunks of cucumber for everyone! This is my con but may be your pro, either way this place is worth checking out for yourself. For dessert I used my yelp check in to get a complimentary scoop of matcha ice cream to go the tab was about $81 total together. We just split it in half, I would very much like to return here but idk if we will because AYCE was LTO and the quality of rolls aren't worth paying for each individually in comparison to other restaurants."

"I have been trying to go here since it opened. One time like 3 years ago I wanted to try their sushi, and I kid you not I circulated the whole neighborhood along with the restaurant's parking for over an hour and couldn't find parking so I went back home and ate at home. On 3/17/2023 my son, his former chef/teacher from school and myself decided to go to Studio Sushi and I got happy. So we went and again, parking was full and thank God, this time around we were able to find parking on the street. It was on a Friday evening around 5:30pm. We walked in and not a very pleasant host w/out a smile or nice greeting took us to our table. Our server Kwyn was very pleasant, kind, professional and knowledgeable. We ordered few dishes:Crispy Rice Spicy TunaLarge Sapporo BeerGarlic Edamame2 orders of Spicy Popper roll2 orders of Studio Roll3 Chef's Handroll2 Spicy Tuna Cut Roll and last but NOT least Tempura Ice Cream.Everything that we have ordered was VERY FRESH, and DELICIOUS!!! Really enjoyed my food. The restaurant was clean including the bathroom. (please fix the seat cover in the restroom so it doesn't fall on you when you are sitting on the toilet. Didn't get that warm welcoming vibe/feeling from everyone there like I do at SUSHI HOUSE and Sushi 101. Just to name a couple of places.A bit pricy for my pocket, parking is small and expected a little more from this place.Nothing really special. Just being honest. Will return again hopefully in the near future and try other sushi rolls. I also live in Studio City so I will come back and try the vibe along with more rolls and see if I can turn the 4 stars into 5!!!"
