"This was my first time visiting this restaurant, and I'm relieved I didn't bring my entire family along. The low ratings from online reviews over the past year suggested that improvements were needed, and despite the owner's responses to most reviews acknowledging the poor service, it appears that things haven't changed as much as I hoped. While recent reviews gave me some hope for improvements, our experience didn't support that.
My wife and I enjoy trying out new places, and if we find a gem, we make sure to return with the whole family. We arrived a few hours before closing and found ourselves the only customers—a potential warning sign. A woman seated us and took our order, but the menu was marked with several crossed-out items, which was another red flag.
I ordered the spicy tonkatsu ramen while my wife opted for the spicy Osaka miso ramen. To my surprise, all of our food arrived in plastic takeout containers stacked on our table, from the appetizers to the noodle bowls. How is this considered dining in? The soup broth was even served in a separate container and wasn’t hot, making it awkward for us to pour it into our bowls ourselves. Honestly, I'd rather eat the microwaveable tonkatsu noodle bowls from Costco at home.
The wakame salad was decent and tasted similar to something from Costco. The sashimi mini cup was acceptable but didn’t seem fresh, also served in a plastic takeout bowl. I’m thankful I didn’t order the two other appetizers I initially wanted. This was my first experience of dining in yet being served in to-go containers, and I had hoped this restaurant would be a great find since it's so close to home."
