"The restaurant is run by a rather stern older gentleman who fully embraces the gruff stereotype. It can be hard to tell if he’s joking or simply being rude, or perhaps a mix of both. I chose to overlook it, but I can see how some customers might feel put off. He likely continues to run this place because it’s a better alternative than spending his retirement cooped up at home watching daytime TV. As for the Gyros, they were average. The meat comes from Kronos, which is essentially the Sysco of Mediterranean food. Most Gyros places use Kronos, so it's amusing when people claim one place's Gyros is better than another’s. In reality, it’s all the same meat sourced from the same supplier, cooked on similar vertical broilers. The only differences you might find come down to cooking temperature and, possibly, how long the pre-sliced meat has been sitting around. The toppings are your standard fare, the tzatziki sauce is typical, and the pitas are nothing special. The fries are the frozen, bagged kind that most restaurants serve these days. Overall, the experience was quite average—not great, but not bad either. They primarily focus on Gyros, so don’t expect a wide variety of Greek dishes on the menu. Based on other online reviews, some people found the place to be dingy and dirty, but I didn’t share that sentiment. While it’s not modern and doesn’t embrace the bright, minimalist aesthetic of many newer restaurants, I wouldn’t classify it as a dive, a hole in the wall, or a greasy spoon. I’ve been to those types of places, and this restaurant doesn’t come close. People must lead pretty sheltered lives if they consider what I view as a standard strip mall restaurant to be a hole in the wall. It was clean, including the restrooms, and spacious, with plenty of tables. I’m puzzled as to why so many patrons opted for takeout. Why would anyone choose to spend their work lunch eating in their car or at their desk? That sounds pretty dreary. This place isn’t one of those awkward spots where you dread sitting down for fear of being stared at by the owner while you eat. The dining room is comfortable, so take advantage of that. In short: It’s your average strip mall Gyros restaurant."
