"I visited over the weekend to get a sandwich. You pay and tip upfront, then wait for your order. It’s nice that the sandwiches are made fresh, so I didn’t mind the wait. While I was waiting, I noticed that smoothies are priced at $4.99 when ordered with a meal. Typically, they cost around $7.19, although I might be mistaken about the exact price. The mango berry smoothie sounded appealing, so I asked someone to add it to my order, but was informed that I couldn’t get the smoothie for $4.99 since I had already paid for my meal. I pointed out that my food wasn’t ready yet, but was still told that the promotional price was not available to me because my payment had already gone through.
I suggested voiding my original order and ringing it up with the sandwich and the smoothie together, but was told only a manager could do that—and she was off for the weekend. I then proposed to just buy the smoothie and have the manager sort out the price adjustment on Monday, but was informed that she probably wouldn’t approve it. Ultimately, I decided to order another sandwich to keep in the fridge just to get the smoothie for the promotion price.
What frustrated me more was that I wasn’t asked which side I wanted (I love their kale and apple side salad, which usually comes with a sandwich), but at that point, I was too annoyed to think about a side. I didn’t really want another sandwich. Otherwise, I would have rated this place four stars. While their smoothies are delicious, they aren’t quite enough to make up for the frustrating corporate policy. For now, I’m taking a break from this restaurant."
