"Tucked away in the Vans Skatepark complex in Huntington Beach is a charming little eatery known as Bunz. This unassuming spot doesn’t rely on flashy decor or Michelin acclaim to draw in patrons; it’s all about the food—and the food here is exceptional.
The burgers at Bunz rank among the best I’ve ever tasted. Made from fresh, high-quality ingredients and cooked to perfection, the patties are juicy and full of flavor, the buns are soft and fluffy, and the toppings are fresh and abundant. I opted for the Double Classic burger, featuring cheddar cheese, lettuce, tomato, onion, and pickles. Though it was a straightforward choice, it was executed flawlessly. We also indulged in an Oreo milkshake, which was absolutely delightful!
But the burgers are just the beginning at Bunz. They offer an impressive array of sides, including chili cheese fries, onion rings, and tater tots (which were fantastic). I sampled the chili cheese tater tots, and they delivered everything you’d hope for: crispy tots topped with melted cheese and a generous portion of chili.
Bunz is not for the faint-hearted; it embraces its status as a greasy spoon. However, if you’re in the mood for a fantastic burger and some laid-back fun, Bunz is the place to be. Just remember to arrive with a hearty appetite!
Here are some highlights of my visit to Bunz:
- The burgers are outstanding.
- The sides are delicious.
- The atmosphere is casual and enjoyable.
- The prices are affordable.
A couple of things to keep in mind:
- Bunz is a small venue, so it can get crowded.
- There is no table service.
- The parking lot is limited.
Overall, I highly recommend Bunz to anyone searching for an excellent burger in Huntington Beach."
