"I want to try new things, but not just for the sake of trying something new. Like I've never thrown a crayon at my car before. I haven't done this because I haven't seen the value in it, but maybe I'm being too close minded. Throwing a crayon at my car could give me the perspective I need. Maybe I'm not throwing crayons at my car because deep down I'm scared about what I'll learn about myself if I do. Or I'm not doing it because I'm scared about what others might think. It's not common place to see a grown man throwing crayons at his vehicle. Anyway, when I saw that this place had an oreo cookie bagel, it felt a little like throwing crayons at a car. It would have been a new experience for me, but I don't think it would have added value. I could be wrong, maybe I'll try it next time. I ended up getting what I always get, a veggie breakfast bagel. It was really good"

"The sandwich on Dutch crunch would have been perfect if there was a reasonable amount of avocado. Barely any avocado in the veggie avocado sandwich. (I doubt they would put such a small amount of meat if it was a meat sandwich. Also got the wrong chips, just salted chips not salt vinegar."

"I recently discovered this charming bagel shop in Walnut Creek and I have already been twice. It has surpassed the chain bagel places I used to frequent. I have never received an incorrect order, the staff is incredibly friendly, and their food is fresh and delicious. "Living out of state now, but I dream about the time I can come back to Sunnyvale and eat my favorite, all time bagels at House of Bagels. I LOVE the whitefish salad bagel, on toasted poppyseed with cucumbers and onions. They cut the cucumbers nice and thin, and the onions also, and the white fish is just the best!! So delicious and salty and oily. Next in line is the lox and cream cheese sandwich; again, toasted poppyseed with extra cream cheese (already generous cucumbers and onions. Simply heaven!! Cannot get this delicious dream of a bagel in other states, sadly, so Please, House of Bagels, never go out of business or change this wonderful recipe!"

"I’m really disappointed with my experience. The bagels were ice cold, and I can't even tell if they were toasted at all—I always request them to be well toasted. As for my salad, it was mostly just lettuce. The instructions I provided weren’t followed, making it the worst salad I’ve ever had! There were chunks of lunch meat and just one tomato that tasted old and unwashed."

"how this place gets the reviews, it is beyond me. I ordered 4 bagels for picking up. 3 blueberries and 1 nowa lox. I specifically asked for strawberry cream cheese on the side for blueberry because it was for workers and would not eat until later. but it came there. you can forget to revive it later. the strawberry cream cheese looked and tasted so artificial. the color was actually neapolitan pink! the color alone turned me off. I thought they made gourmet cream cheese? I was looking for strawberries that even got Philadelphia-Creme cheese. but no, they beat the box that was barely decent. the nowa lox was ok, but it didn't come with any cats. the captains are the key! very disappointed. will not be back."

"This place is the f bomb. I got the lox bagel and my girl got a bagel with avocado and cream cheese. We initially ordered off of Uber Eats from here and we had the 'Old Man ' bagel. The food here is amazing, definitely should have a 5 stars. All the employees here are so nice and friendly and happy and it sets the overall mood of this place, welcoming anyone for a quick bite. "We searched for breakfast spots in the area and discovered this charming restaurant. We placed a large order online for pickup. When I arrived at the scheduled time, the order wasn't quite ready, but it was clear that they were busy. The staff was very apologetic, friendly, and professional. Let me tell you, the food was well worth the wait! We tried the #12 Bacon egg cheese on a jalapeño cheese bagel, #17 Sausage+Bacon egg cheese on a plain bagel, #9 LOX (salmon cream cheese) on an Asiago cheese bagel, a strawberry stick pastry, a blueberry cream-filled croissant, a strawberry cream-filled croissant, and a few other pastries. This place is truly amazing! We will definitely be returning next time we are in the area."

"The texture of the bagel and the service were good. The bagels were chewy and fresh, and the cream cheese was wonderfully creamy. However, I found the bagels to be quite salty. I'm not sure if this is typical for this establishment. I tried a strawberry bagel and a blueberry bagel with cream cheese. Unfortunately, the excessive saltiness overshadowed any significant strawberry flavor, with the only hint of strawberries being the color of the bagel. I requested a blueberry bagel instead, and they kindly obliged. Unfortunately, the blueberry bagel suffered from the same saltiness. Both the strawberry and blueberry flavors were overwhelmed by the salty dough. While it wasn't extreme, the saltiness detracted from the overall experience and masked the bagels' other flavors."

"I really want to like this place because the sandwiches are usually pretty good, so I gave it a 4-star rating for food quality. However, the service can be hit or miss; sometimes they're quick, other times not so much. Today, when I walked in, an older woman at the register wiped her nose with her fingers and then touched her pants. After that, she took my credit card, grabbed my food (which was really unappetizing), and handed me a pen and my bag of food. I was completely grossed out. I understand that having a cold can make you blow your nose, but this was just too much."

"What a great find!! After a disappointing night at a nearby hotel my guests and I were looking for a quick bite and coffee before embarking on our 6 hour journey! To kick off , the shop was warm , inviting and cozy! The delicious aromas of baked goods and coffee rafting in the air. Immediately we were greeted and order requests were asked. The assembly and the methodical process of the food prep was impressive and fun to watch our orders come to fruition! On the table we had ordered The Rio , In a spinach wrap with jam and potato. This was amazing! Then there was the Western on a sesame bagel , delicious and tasty! Last but not least we had the Chedder melt in a spinach wrap , so delicious! We also had lattes and americanos, I personally am a Starbucks junkie, and I will say my caramel americano at this shop surpassed my usual americano at Starbucks! Big kudos to the staff here as they were all working quickly to assist I house guests as well as drive thru! Absolutely found this place to be charming and if I'm In Fairbanks again, I will definitely be stopping in! T"

"We had one of the best bagel breakfast sandwiches at this restaurant! We ordered the vegetarian bagel with sprouts, tomatoes, and eggs, and it was absolutely delicious. I also had a croissant with egg, tomatoes, and avocado, which was amazing as well. Everything is made fresh here, so it may take a little longer, but they bring it to your table and put a lot of care into each sandwich. The orange juice is freshly pressed, and the coffee is delicious and hot. The staff was friendly and helpful, and the food was incredible. We would definitely eat here again 1000 times! The portions were huge - we were still full hours after eating lunch."

"I come grab a bagel on my way to work every now and then and today was different. I ordered online and when I came in I asked one of the staff about my order and she asked what my name is and I told her. Then the staff member at the register said to wait in line. I thought that was odd as if it was ready it would be cold but I did it anyway. As I was getting closer, the 1st staff member asked me about my name again and she said it was almost ready. As I continued to wait in line a lady behind me asked me in a very pissed off way if I was in line. I told her in my own frustrated tone that they asked me to wait in line but I didn't know what to do from there. The staff member at the registered gave me the dirtiest look and then continued to whisper to the other staff member looking at me again. They proceeded to leave my bagel in the container on the counter for an additional 5 minutes I guess to punish me for asking questions. Is it my brown skin or curly hair. If you go to daily bagel whatever you do, do not ask questions. As you will be treated unfavorably."

"I seldom write a poor review preferring to praise good experiences. For many years, since B. B. opened, my wife and I have enjoyed our visits. It’s been several years (pandemic and travel) so we decided to return on a Monday for lunch around 11:30. It was nearly empty. The service pleasant but slow. My wife’s coffee took so long I inquired. “It’s on the way.” Her steak bagel arrived, bagel good but minimal steak that resembled Steak ‘Em. A few minutes later my Western Omelet arrived, then her coffee last. Absolutely the worst omelet I recall in 70+ years. The eggs were grilled extra well done both sides, brown. Then a slice of cheese, then ham, not the best I checked to sure it wasn’t fried baloney, then the veggies layered. (50 60% dried tomatoes I like them but mucho overkill). The burnt eggs were wrapped around it all. Were they trying for crepes? Missed that too. Aren’t omelet fixings normally folded into the eggs? Anyway I ate the filling and took the burnt eggs for my dog. My wife ate half of hers and the rest came home for doggie. With hindsight the 20% tip was excessive but the staff was briskly pleasant. I almost went 25%. Learning curve, save a cash gratuity until done, opps we had to clean up ourselves. I hate we won’t return as we have fond memories of excellent food from the past. Oh well, things change. Hope it changes again for the better."
