"However, I returned about two weeks ago while visiting the area and was disappointed to find the café dirty, with crumbs scattered across the floor and a faint sour milk smell. I assumed it was just a busy day, so I went ahead and ordered. When I inquired about their coffee offerings, the staff seemed uninformed, only able to describe the coffee in terms of light, medium, or dark roast.
After waiting about five minutes for my espresso, I was disheartened to see that the elaborate designs had disappeared, and all the mugs had just blobs of foam on top, reminiscent of what you’d find at Starbucks. Unfortunately, when I tasted my drink, it ended up being the worst espresso I’ve ever had—bitter and harsh, just like a shot from Starbucks. It seemed like the new staff lacked the knowledge and enthusiasm that made this place special. It felt like they had hired a group of disinterested teenagers you'd expect at a fast-food joint.
It’s really disappointing because this had been my favorite café in Connecticut. I’ll definitely be looking for a REAL third-wave coffee shop in the area next time, as it’s clear that this café has lost its charm. It doesn't feel like the same amazing place I enjoyed two years ago."
