"After having a look through Green Egg's Instagram page, my friends and I decided to have brunch here. The savory option which I tried, their version of shrimp and grits, was very mid-tier and frankly unappealing. Both the shrimp and grits were under seasoned, while the grits were cloyingly rich yet flavorless. The sauce which accompanied it was overly vinegary, lumpy stew, which failed to bring the dish together. The random topping of eggs also added nothing, if anything, highlighted the absurd ratio of shrimp to grits. The shrimp seemed to be more of a scant garnish, than a substantial part of the meal. It seems as though there's an attempt to overwhelm with quantity, rather than deliver a quality meal. It's gimmicky and unnecessary.I don't know if there's a chef de cuisine on staff; if there is, he or she really needs to overhaul that particular recipe and the presentation. Now, the berry lemonade in contrast to my main, was really nicely balanced, and I quite enjoyed it.The hostesses were both incredibly warm and welcoming, however the waitress was quite curt, bordering on rude. The mandatory 18% service charge is confounding, given that it's a cash only establishment.I'd skip this as a brunch spot."
