"I am a Texan born and raised, and I know BBQ. I love Smokey Mo's and prefer the convenience of the drive-thru as opposed to a full-on restaurant experience of, say, Rudy's Original Country store and BBQ. Today, I pulled into the Smokey Mo's in Boerne. I ordered marbled brisket, trimmed and the girl, Zelle (spelling at the Boerne location drive-thru, tried to tell me that marbled brisket had the fat in it already and couldn't be trimmed. What??? So, I told her I understood and know what Marbled brisket is and that the cutter would know what I meant. She said OKaayyyyyy! and cut me off at the drive thru speaker. Then when I pulled up, she opened the window, looked away from me when I said thank you and rudely stuck the bag out to me before slamming the window shut. I was FLABBERGASTED (to put it nicely). I don't think someone who is short tempered or easily offended or behaves like a spoiled brat should be in the hospitality business or restaurant service. This girl may not have known what she was talking about for whatever reason, but that's not the customer's fault. Her behavior was unfriendly, unprofessional and uncalled for. Lots of people don't know the specifics of ordering bbq meats and THAT'S OKAY. But it's not right for the bbq EMPLOYEE to become retaliatory to an imagined slight just because she doesn't understand what she's selling. The Boerne location Smokey Mo's has frequently had service with a cruddy attitude. It's almost like the owner's aren't around so the employees are left to run the place and treat people as they see fit. As though they are in charge of what happens and are running it their way (into the ground) I bet they treat people better when the owners are actually there. That's called LACK OF INTEGRITY. We used to only go to the one on Shaenfield in San Antonio. We will go back to doing that. Personally, I like the way they treat customers much better at that location. The employees at the Boerne location seem to forget they are working for someone else's business and their behavior reflects on the location as a whole. They aren't doing the franchise owners any favors by making paying, repeat, local customers want to drive out of their way to go to another location. However, that's exactly what we'll be doing from now on. I wasn't even going to mention the fact that the last two times we've been there, we were shorted on our order. We've never complained or went back to have it corrected but enough is enough. We will not be returning to this location."

"Upsetting experience delivered with UberEats. Before I start my review, I?d like to preface by saying that my driver was on time and waited for the order at the location so this is not an issue of a 3rd party delivery company being at fault for food sitting in a to go box on a counter. I also absolutely LOVE trying new bbq, so I was pretty excited to get my food! However, I was disappointed from the moment I opened my bag. I ordered the three meat plate with marbled brisket, turkey, and chicken with potato salad and macaroni and cheese as my sides. I?ll start with the good the chicken was pretty moist and flavorful, and the mac and cheese was good as well. The turkey has decent flavor, but it was so dry I could not eat more than a few slices. The brisket was not marbled, and it was incredibly dry and tough. What little fat strip they left on the meat was unrendered, and the overall texture was rubbery and unpleasant. Disturbingly, the only thing that arrived remotely warm was the potato salad. It?s temperature lead me to believe it is not being stored properly, so I stopped eating it after the first bite. Again, my delivery driver waited at the restaurant for my food to be prepared, and I live approximately 12 minutes from the restaurant. There is no reason my food should have arrived as cold and as dry as it did. As I said before, I love BBQ and was really looking forward to trying something new. Unfortunately, this will likely be my one and only experience with Smokey Mo?s."

"I was in the mood for bbq and I surely came to the right place. The interior was clean and the staff was friendly enough. I was hungry and ready to eat. I ordered the sliced brisket and turkey with coleslaw, baked beans and macaroni. When I went to get my drink I encountered a wonderful smell of fresh jalapenos. They looked great. I grabbed a few and sat down to eat. The food was wonderful and those jalapenos were big juicy and delicious. A great compliment to the meal. The only issue I had was with the temperature of the meat. It was barely warm. I thought that maybe it was because I poured bbq sauce on it that was sitting at room temperature. Maybe, but the meat still could have been much warmer. The only reason I didn't complain was because the beans and macaroni were hot enough to make the meat warmer has I chewed them together, besides I was so hungry that once I started eating I didnt want to stop. ? I really liked the way the food was arranged as well. 4 stars only because the meat wasnt hot enough. Hope its better next time because I will be back............ so I came back on today Oct 5 and its the same issue: luke warm meat. The turkey was barely warm and the brisket was cold after the second bite. This time I did ask the guy behind the counter if he could warm the meat up. He said no. Apologizing because they had no microwave. I dont understand it. Ive given this place a good review and has even suggested it few times. Not anymore. I cant eat luke warm to cold meat. Thats ridiculous. How can any restaurant serve such a thing. Maybe its just what they serve me. I have no idea. What I do know is that I wont be back."
