Coming from New York, it's challenging to find authentic Italian cuisine outside of the tri-state area, but Anna's truly stands out as the best. "I had a very disappointing experience at this restaurant. It took two hours for our food to arrive, despite reassurances from the staff. The manager was confrontational and insisted that it was somehow our fault. We ended up sending the small children and their mothers home without a meal. When the food finally arrived, it was cold. Truly unbelievable!"

"I've been going here for years and always liked it. Today I went there for lunch and sat down at the bar. I was minding my own business and playing a game on my phone. I ordered drink and was waiting to place my lunch order and the guy next to me suddenly stars calling me a douschbag and threatens to kick my ass. At first I was polite, being in a family atmosphere and asked him what was his problem and he continued to repeatedly call me a douschebag. I never met this person and never said a word to him , but he was obviously over served at 1:00 in the afternoon . The staff may need some retraining as the bartender referred to this person by name and was the one that served him. I paid my bill for the Bloody Mary that was one of the worst I have ever had. I would not recommend this place to anybody!!! And by the way the service was so bad I waited almost 20 minutes for that Bloody Mary and was there for close to a half hour and still had not been asked by staff for my food order."

"I don't like to make bad reviews and I rarely ever have. However, I was really disappointed today. Our company has ordered from here before and the customer service was great. The lady that took care of previously was super sweet and efficient and we had no issues with our order. Today they left one of the meals off the order and we had to drive back to get it. Then one of the wraps had black olives on it after requesting to not have them. We also received another incorrect wrap. It was supposed to be Buffalo chicken, we aren't sure what it was that we got. When I called to let them know of the extra errors, I was further disappointed with the response. I work in customer service and make it a point to be friendly as well as extremely apologetic if we mess something up for a customer and then we try to go above and beyond to fix it. The tone of voice was not friendly. I was asked if we wanted to drive back over there for a third time. Which would have then equaled an hours worth of driving. This was our company lunch break. So that was not feasible. We were not offered any kind of comp much less a real apology. I clearly annoyed the manager with my call. We won't be ordering from there again, unfortunately."

"Great night with family at dinner at Cap City. I respect that the Cameron Mitchell restaurants take seriously allergies (no one in our party has food allergies or intolerances) and our server asked if we had any right off the bat. She was very attentive and spent the perfect amount of time seeing if we needed anything between our appetizer course and main course. The food was of great and the Blue Cheese chips are divine. I had the balsamic chicken which arrived with two enormous chicken breasts, mashed potatoes, fresh spinach and mushrooms. The rest of the party had the burger (excellent), meatloaf and fried chicken. The place was hopping with happy people and we had a lovely experience."

"The first warning sign we should have noticed was the drink menu, which had no prices listed for any of the beverages. Even more concerning, there wasn't even a beer selection included on the menu. It felt like a clear indication they could change prices at will. We felt completely taken advantage of, and when we expressed our concerns to the "manager," they had no authority to resolve the issue. They just blamed the owners (whoever they are) and claimed that "things have gotten so expensive." While that might be true, no one else in the Des Moines area charges that much for a basic beer. We definitely won’t be returning."

"Stopped in for dinner and was impressed with all the vegan options on the menu and bakery. They have tons of smoothies/juices/pastries so it would likely be a great breakfast spot. Menu is clearly labeled with vegetarian, vegan, and gluten free. Note VEG is not vegan (it has honey), SVEG is actually vegan. I got the pasta primavera, it was fine not particularly mind blowing, and it was generous to call the sauce cheese sauce. Non veg boyfriend had a meal with seafood and his was also just fine. It was nice having so many vegan options on the menu, but the food was only okay. Everything was served in plastic which I didn’t love. The star here is the banana whip, think smoothest nice cream you have ever had. They put the frozen bananas through a juicer instead of blending. They have tons of vegan toppings including: chocolate chips, Pb sauce, an all fruit fudge, as well as nuts, seeds, pretzels, etc. I got my banana whip on top of a brownie. Next time I may come in just for dessert."

"I can't believe I didn't take a picture of my omelet! It was absolutely perfect. The vegetables were incredibly fresh, the potatoes were light and just right, and the toast was wonderfully fluffy. I couldn't finish my meal, which is quite unusual for me. The coffee was great, the service was excellent, and the total price was around $10, which I thought was fantastic given the generous portion size!"

"This restaurant provides unacceptable service. The servers are rude and push past customers without apologizing. The staff clearing dishes carry buckets of dirty dishes that get in the way of diners. The manager seemed unconcerned about these issues and also neglected to refill the salad bar on a busy Saturday night. Service was slow, with a long wait for drinks and food. The food quality was subpar and overpriced. Formerly a beloved establishment, Charlie Brown's has been taken over by a new ownership group looking to turn it into a franchise. Hopefully, they can restore it to its former glory."
