"we went to the tom quick in for her silvester price fixed dinner. our waitress was a young girl called kayla. we were served two rolls and four slices of Italian bread. I couldn't bite the Italian brot because it was so hard. it looked like it was burned freeze cabinet. the two rollers were hot, tasty and freshly picked from the often. the brot was served with oil, a cocktail fork and a butter knife. I asked for butter, and the waitress told me there is no butter. I giggled because I thought it was so strange, especially because a butter knife was served. my muscheln casino were delicious and hot. the tuna carpaccio my mannes was very good. next came our escape. my man had surfing and shaking. the filet was excellent, until medium cooked, as he had asked. the crab legs were also hot and tasty, but there was no cracker offered to him for his crab. my lamb was overcooked and lukewarm. the sweet was a beautiful sortiment of Brussel spears, broccoli and cauliflower, but they were cold; some bites were room temperature, other bites were cold. the kartoffels were good, but room temperature. my man eats no carbohydrates, so he asked for no potatoes, but extra sweet. the waitress told him there were no substitutions. after that we talked to a couple who sat near us. the woman had garnelen instead of crab legs as substitution because she does not eat crab legs. when we were offered coffee, we were told that there was no regular coffee. I giggled again because I thought that was so weird. we went to the silvestergala after dinner, which we really enjoyed. the band was excellent. we would recommend the gala again, in any case. I am mixed with the restaurant."

"While we were there, a guy was sweeping the floor, which felt a bit rude since we were still eating. We ordered the fried pickles, which aren't on the menu, and 20 wings priced at $16.99. The mild sauce here is actually more like a medium hot sauce, which is quite tasty. The fried pickles arrived, and they were pretty good — definitely worth the $5.99 we paid. However, the wings that followed were disappointing. Despite the waitress being friendly, she was busy with her side work and kept disappearing, leaving us unattended while we ate. Another couple arrived and sat at the bar, but we were mostly left alone. Unfortunately, the wings were dry and not very hot, especially for just being served. I was the one craving the wings, so I hesitated to say anything about how bad they were. We’ve been here on Monday nights when wings are 50 cents each, and they were much better then. However, this time they were unacceptable. We didn't want to finish them and considered taking the leftovers home, but when the waitress came back, my husband pointed out how dried out the wings were. As a waitress, you’d think she might say, "You're right, let me get the manager," but instead she just apologized, cleared the table, and went to print our bill without offering any compensation. My husband asked to see the manager, and when she arrived, she couldn't believe the quality of the wings we were served. She examined one, repeating "no, no, no way," and expressed her apologies. She took our check back, adjusted it, and removed the wings charge. She even asked if we wanted anything else, but we declined. We mentioned that we usually enjoy the wings, but these tasted like they were pre-cooked and reheated — definitely not fresh, and completely dried out. The manager, Michelle, handled the situation remarkably well, and we made sure to remember her name for that reason. We usually don't go out expecting anything for free, but in this case, we felt justified since the wings were inedible. We appreciated Michelle's approach and wish more managers would address concerns like she did. Would we return? Probably, but not immediately. I rated this experience two stars, primarily because of Michelle and the fried pickles. I would have given it three stars if the wings had been better, but I considered one star based on the service we received beforehand. We understand that staff want to wrap up at closing time, but they should check on their tables more often. Hopefully, our next visit will be much more enjoyable."

"My husband and I dined at Amanda’s in Hoboken for the first time and requested a window seat in advance when we made the reservation. When we arrived, the hostess indicated that the window seats were only for parties of three or four. No problem at all until shortly after we were seated a couple (party of 2) was seated at a window seat. Being the only African-Americans in the restaurant at the time and to see a Caucasian couple enter in and be seated at a table we were told we couldn’t have access to, was very insulting as well as highly unprofessional. We asked the hostess why they were able to be seated at the window seating we were denied access to and she initially lied and said they were a party of three but only two people arrived. There were clearly two pre set menus at the table prior to the couple arriving. When we spoke to the manager, he came clean and said that the two diners were regulars and always sit by the window every week. This whole situation could have been avoided if they were just honest in the first place. As for courtesy and integrity 0/10. As for the food, it was slightly above average 6/10. As for our server, he had poor communication skills, very little eye contact and could use additional training in fine dining customer service 3/10. The most enjoyable part of our dining experience was the live entertainment and the young lady pouring the water. We’ve decided not to return or recommend this establishment. It’s just too many great restaurants in Hoboken to be subjected to awkward and subpar service."
