"We ate her on Sun. 8/14/22. We are from UT and were visiting our daughter and her family. I have Celiac so we of course had to look up and call many restaurants that could accommodate Gluten Free food. This restaurant does not as of yet, have a “GlutenFree” or “ Gluten Friendly” menu but the manager (I assume he was the manager, server 0006) was extremely accommodatingand made sure the kitchen took precautions to make me a plate without gluten products. The food was Delicious and I had zeroissues! The one thing I was disappointed with is I could not eat the chips and salsa as the chips are deep fried in a vat withother products that contain gluten so I ordered a side salad to start. Thank your efforts and for a great meal. My daughter’sfamily has lived in OH for 5 months and said not only was it the best Mexican food they have ever had but that it was by far thebest meal they had had since they moved there, and they have sampled a lot of restaurants. They actually live 40 miles from theEl Caporal but said they will definitely make more trips to eat here. Kudos to the cooks! Note to manager: If you could get afew bags of Gluten Free corn chips from the store and keep them on hand for the people that have Celiac that would put the mealover the top! (Assuming the Salsa doesn’t contain gluten). Also, your hostess that night was very friendly and accommodating.The bathrooms were clean as was the restaurant and had a great ambience!"

"This is my first visit. I've been vegan since George W. Bush's first term and I've been to dozens of vegan restaurants from holes in the wall to fine dining. I just moved to Lawrence a few days ago and realized I lived two blocks from a vegan restaurant. I walked to it today in single digit temperatures and was not disappointed.Food: I had the Medley Bowl. It greeted my pallet with delicate spinach greens that made my heart rise in my chest, jalapenos cooked just enough to be soft yet crunchy, caramelized cashews and onions laid on top of a bed of Spanish rice then topped with a sweet chili sauce.People: The woman working the counter greeted me promptly with a masked smile, she was calm, friendly, knowledgeable, efficient and helpful.Space: There are two levels which I didn't notice at first. Upstairs seems really cozy and there was what appeared to be traveling art on the wall. If you look in from the street and it doesn't look like there is seating, look up, dine in.Value: The portion was a perfect meal size for me, and I'm not a small man. It was quite affordable. Great value.Con: I'm not crazy about plastic to-go containers and bags. Had I known about that and taken the time to look upstairs I would have definitely eaten in. I will reuse this one as much as I can before it goes into the waste stream. It is possible that quality compostable takeout containers are simply not available in the local market and if that's the case please disregard. If you can, please consider switching to something less environmentally permanent."

"My partner and I visited the restaurant on Sunday, September 8th, 2019. It was our first time trying the fresh and hot chips and delicious salsa, which was not overpowering with cilantro like other salsas I've had. I ordered the vegetarian burrito with green peppers, red pepper, Swiss cheese, fresh zucchini, and chili sauce on the side. It was fresh and hot off the grill, wrapped in a flour tortilla shell. The water with lemon and frozen strawberry margarita special was 2 for 1. My partner had the Nachos Texanos with steak, green and red peppers, sour cream, avocado, and jalapenos on the side, also fresh and hot. It was enough for 2 people to share. We were greeted and seated promptly, with our waitress Heidi being very nice, respectful, and helpful with the menu. The young man who brought our chips and salsa was also friendly and helpful. Heidi was very knowledgeable about the menu and ensured we had a great dining experience. We will definitely be returning to this Mexican restaurant, as it was one of the best we've been to in a while. We visited again yesterday, April 1st, 2022, ordering the double steak and chicken fajitas with refried beans, rice, and guacamole salad. We also enjoyed the chips and salsa and Large Queso dip. I had a strawberry margarita and my partner had a corona extra and a mango mojito. Our hostess, Ruby, was very professional, respectful, kind, and served as our waitress as well. She ensured our drinks were brought promptly, took our food order, and checked on us throughout our meal to ensure everything was to our liking. We will definitely be returning."
