"when we reached our 915 clock reservation, there was no one at the Hostess-Desk. I went to talk to someone in the takeout area to see what's going on, they told me to wait for someone to come out. we waited a good 4.5 minutes until the host finally comes. He didn't apologize for waiting. I just set us up. the waiter didn't say hello or imagined himself. it was just ready to take away our order immediately. eating was okay, nothing special. overall it was just ok. the customer service was missing and again it was not special. I wouldn't go back. too many other good restaurants around with good service and eating to deal with it. it's too bad, I was very excited to eat here."

"I come here every few months for a quiet Saturday mid afternoon drink to start my weekend. Usually around 2/3:00! The bartender is cold and blank. I've been coming here for many years and it seems like back years ago she had a following of local drunks, I remember the laughter at the bar, the watching of sports. The crowds. The laughter. These days it's much quieter. She is just different, I don't even get a hello or a thank you. She seems miserable in her job now."

"Hot and Sour, Quick and Tasty. Its not the cheesy, fast food Chinese of the mall nor the high dining places. Its New China. Its been there for a while, and it doesn't appear to be going anywhere anytime soon.<br/ <br/ So, why go? Well, for one, a $5.50 lunch includes soup or eggroll, rice and entre'. I usually get two meals out of my to-go order (yes, convenient to my work). <br/ <br/ The last time I went for a sit down was with the old college crew (use to be a regular spot for us). Out of the 14 of us, half of us ordered a vegetarian option. Only one of us is vegetarian, though. We have really come to enjoy their tofu variations of classics. Sure, you can tell, but they're tasty different! I really enjoy my tofu mushu!<br/ <br/ But they also know their regulars. We get friendly service, even from new wait staff. They answer and they have my food ready in 10 minutes for lunch. Sure, we've hit snags (had to call back to get order through, mistakes on food, poor food) but these are the exceptions, not the rules and each time they've corrected it when we brought it up. <br/ <br/ So, quick lunch or decent dinner, its a staple for southside. Now excuse me while I go finish my hot and sour soup."

"A few years back , I had gone here for their lunch buffet with a few friends . I recall it being excellent , so I decided to stop by when I was in the area . It was exactly the same as I remembered it , the gourmet food is prepared fresh in small quantities , the establishment was exceptionally clean , tables , chairs and restrooms updated and very clean . With a relaxing no rush atmosphere . The staff are friendly and attentive . Well worth a visit .."

"will never get away from here again. the appetizers and entrees are often very hot dishes that they pack in polystyrene containers. Once they get the food to their destination, they have a hug where the styrofoam has melted and the sauces have erupted; and, even worse, there are plastic now mixed in it. for the prices they calculate, they seem to invest in better container. it is a scandal because most of their dishes were very good, but ruined by the cheap packaging they use. also noted that some of the dishes were also changed to a lower quality. i. bark chow fun was served with wide wide noodles now with tight hair no diving sauce for pot stickers or crab rangoons. general tso’s huh was previously loaded with hearty chicken bites and the variety of vegetables, but now they are served with tiny stripes of huh, sose and no sweet. quality and quantity went down, but prices did not."

"I used to be a regular at this restaurant, but I moved away years ago. I still have a Jade Garden magnet on my fridge. I am visiting home for the holiday and decided to stop by for the first time in years. The food was just as delicious as I remembered. My usual order is the combo plate with General Tso's chicken (extra spicy), pork fried rice, and crab rangoons. It may not be fancy, but it is still my favorite Chinese takeout, even after living in Chicago for 15 years."

"I'm seriously and I do mean SERIOUSLY DISAPPOINTED ..... okay so we ordered rangoons and soup, the hot n sour soup tasted like they dumped all the salt and pepper from the kitchen in it. It was inedible to say the least. Our crab rangoons came out with two of each*duck sauce and spicy mustard. I waited for her to come around so I could ask for sweet and sour sauce that was a good 20 minutes. Which when we got the sauce finally our entrees were coming out. The empress shrimp was definitely not fried long enough because some of the batter was still raw inside. Also inedible. The fried rice tasted like spoiled food. And it was all just really off putting . On top of it all the employees would just peek out and stare at guests in the dining area in a really creepy kind of way. My friends and I all mutually agreed to NEVER come here again. Save yourself a trip and some money and try YEN CHENG on East Washington they are way better and they don't sacrifice on quality when it comes to their ingredients. Lastly the bathrooms are just weird they are attached to the kitchen and it's just awkward. ANJA VETOS! Vegetarian options: They have a vegetarian section on their menu. Parking: They have a parking lot. Wheelchair accessibility: Plenty of handicapped parking and wheelchair accessible spots in dining area."

"Damn Daniel. Back at it again wit the bomb piroshki. They just do things right here. Not saying the other places don't. It's just better here in my opinion. I don't know why I don't come here more often. Their variety of flavors are unmatched. Their bread is always so fluffy and toasted to perfection. The filling ingredients all taste fresh like it was butchered and hand picked at the kings farm before being preped and stuffed into each piroshki. And they have desserts. Amazing desserts that are worth their own review and 5 star rating. Wait what, duh, this is a bakery. And a damn amazing one at that. I'll have to start trying and reviewing random things here because everything I've eaten here makes the other spots taste like their are serving the cheap knock off versions of food. Their desserts too. I vote yes to piroshki on Madison for piroshki president."

"The meal I ordered was so small. A Sweet and sour chicken meal. I small scoop of rice as plain as possible, nearly raw vegetables tossed in next to my fried chicken(to take up space no doubt) and I had to go retrieve my own change from the grocery store next door. No one was working here that could possibly understand authentic Chinese food. I get it, some people don’t want to actually eat authentic Chinese food. But this was advertised as something good and it’s just frozen food heated up, upcharged and tossed in a tray. Learned my lesson"
