"I had a fantastic experience at this restaurant. The staff was very attentive and the food and drinks were fantastic. Make sure to plan ahead for parking, or take advantage of the valet service. The restaurant has a partition separating the bar and dining area, so you can enjoy a nice conversation without being disturbed by noise from the bar. I highly recommend this place."

"As a belated celebration of birthday and Father’s Day, our son treated us to a luxurious Japanese BBQ feast here. The ambience was welcoming. A glass of chilled cold draft Asahi was a nice way to begin our meal. The salads were beautifully-plated and appetizingly refreshing. The grill-you-own entrees started with an aged Tomahawk set of high quality flavorful, tender beef. The finely-marbled Celebrity Japanese wagyu set followed. This tasting order gradually ascending to A5 dry aged beef accentuated their superior umami quality. Two sets, totaling 14 delicious morsels per person, was a lot of premium beef for four of us! The assorted pickled vegetables and kimchi complemented the protein well, and the rice w shiso leaf tasted marvelous. Service was very attentive. An excellent dinner."

"The food is amazing and completely experimental. I love the unique flavours that accompany every single dish and the presentation is spectacular. It has been one of the best restaurant experiences I’ve ever had and some of the best food as well. I’d give it five stars for every aspect.Unfortunately after coming back a year later and seeing that the menu has been reworked, I would lower my rating drastically (maybe by two stars or so). It has become so much less experimental and the unique flavours are few and far between. The menu is cluttered with basic items such as steak and fries which has replaced some of the most unique menu choices I’ve seen at a restaurant. The old steak I got a year ago is no longer available and it was honestly one of the best I’ve ever had with its unique flavours and presentation. I hope they bring back some of the unique menu items that have almost completely disappeared from this restaurant. The food is still good but it’s not as good as it was nor as special. Why go here if it’s not to different from other chain restaurants of its type?The head chef is awesome, other staff like management or what not, not to sure. I don’t know who runs the place but they seem to be new management and very bad at it. Reviews and conversations lead me to believe that the new management is disgusting and I honestly hope this place can get things together."

"For our first visit, we decided to go with the American Wagyu set. It was not the most expensive option, but certainly not the cheapest. We also tried the sea urchin beef sushi and the seafood pancake (pajeon). Those familiar with KBBQ may find this experience different, as the grill is grated and uses an open flame, resulting in quick cooking times. This is crucial, as the high-quality meat and fat content make a noticeable difference. Our dining experience felt like a culinary adventure, with each cut of meat offering a unique quality and mouthfeel. From the incredibly fatty A5 Japanese Wagyu Ribeye to the flavorful Salted Tongue, every bite was exceptional and distinctive. I highly recommend trying the shiso rice with the meat – it truly elevates the dish. Tamaen is not your typical all-you-can-eat KBBQ spot, so you may not leave overly full. However, the superior quality of the meat makes it worth every penny. I am already looking forward to my next visit. Regarding parking, the lot is located behind the restaurant, so be sure to keep an eye out, as it can be easy to miss."

"This restaurant is a hidden gem tucked away on the third floor of a building. We had a fantastic dining experience and the service was excellent. We also received a complimentary dessert with our Yelp check-in. We especially enjoyed the tuna tarts, chicken sliders, and burgers. After our meal, we stopped by the ground floor to purchase some pastries and macarons to take home. I highly recommend this restaurant. They also offer private dining rooms and a prix fixe menu, which I plan to come back and try."

"Bacari is one of my favorite restaurants in LA. I dine here as often as possible and it never disappoints. 'G is awesome! He always makes sure everyone is taken care of and enjoying their experience. The hostess was great! She was friendly, welcoming and really set the tone of the dinner. Our server, can 't remember her name (she had blond hair with bangs), was awesome! She made great drink and food recommendations, was super personable and an overall great server! "Took out of town niece hub wonderful dinner on a Friday night. We all ordered different dishes everything was incredible! I have never tasted pasta so fresh I couldn’t stop eating it. The Branzino is absolutely the best fish I have ever tasted!!it’s grilled outside taste seasoning perfect. Our waiter was very attentive friendly. Suggested a wine that was less then what we were looking at, he brought a taste sample, so bottles later it’s very nice white wine w/the fish. Again everything was amazing served perfectly, we sat outside. After we cleaned our plates clean took a break some wine then he offered dessert. I love Tiramisu, Percirino did not let me down, over the top excellent, just the way it’s supposed to be made, wonderful. Table ordered the fudge brownies they loved. Can’t recommend Pecorino enough, if you want just a relaxed quiet dinner with excellent food this is the place."

"The Open Table app let us make New Years Eve reservation and we showed up promptly to be told after 10 minutes that the kitchen closed over an hour ago. Didn’t even try to act like they wanted our business. We will never go back and can see why it was empty compared to every place else on Mill Avenue. Also because it was w/in 2 hours the app wouldn’t let us make a new reservation and told us to call the restaurant to cancel/make changes. Called El Hefe and no one would answer the phone or has still not called back."

"That was our best experience in LA! We were warmly welcomed by Liz, whose outgoing smile made our evening truly memorable. She clearly loves her job and was fantastic. Bella was also delightful. "A wonderful dining experience from start to finish. The service and food were excellent and the outdoor seating quite nice. We got there during happy hour and started off with the Tamarind Margarita. Aside from the salt it was not very margarita like, but it was still tasty. As appetizers we got the tuna, tempura shrimp and delicious cabbage salad. The tuna was fresh and delightful with cool rice crisps hiding the raw tuna. The tempura was nicely flavored and very light, it felt more like pan fried shrimp. We shared the sizeable and colorful cabbage salad and really enjoyed the light dressing. For mains we had the Mushroom Ramen, King Salmon, and grilled pork chops. All were delicious and I'll let the photos do most of the talking. The ramen was spicy but just right for my taste. We had two desserts, the tart and the skillet. I thought the tart was a bit too hard, but the skillet was just right. It was gone before I could get a photo : Everything about the dinner was great. They have a very attentive staff and the outdoor patio was kid and dog friendly."

This was rude and I have never experienced such strict time limits at a restaurant before. My thoughts: - It would be better to communicate this policy on the reservation page. - American restaurants usually handle customers arriving late or leaving early without issue. - All customers should be treated equally, regardless of their status as regulars. The staff could have handled the situation better by not making us feel rushed and by seating us away from the noisy regular customers. Overall, the staff's behavior was disappointing."

"It’s very much... ok. Salsa Verde (green) uses green food dye and the jalapenos taste old. Rice is nearly flavorless and the pieces are all broken whereas the chicken is overly salty. Chicken tastes like they added chicken stock powder to the chicken. There’s not much crema here at all — only lightly coated. Avocado wasn’t ripe and it was hard. This also wasn’t fully peeled. The beans were gritty and some chunks were dry. Their tortillas are also just store bought. Easier than cooking, maybe."
