"Brown’s Wharf Inn was an a-ok stay, not exactly great, but decent. We booked a room on the third floor (which was really quiet and peaceful! which was one of the “cove side rooms”, facing the wharf. You could sit out in the balcony, escape from your present-day problems and troubles, and enjoy the soft waves below and the joyous music coming from a restaurant nearby. However, our room looked old and smelled musty. The drawers and desk looked like antiques. Something you would expect in a grandma’s house. The bathroom was oh so tiny…the sink was outside, whereas the toilet and shower were in a cramped “room”. The shower was small, and made endless loud noises as water would pour. Whenever someone would shower, we could hear the water rushing and the constant stopping and beginning. Also, the walls and ceilings seemed thin. I could hear people arguing while I was on the balcony, even though they were a couple rooms away (their door did not seem to be opened . Our balcony was shared, so it may be closer than I thought. The beds were comfy, though a bit bumpy. But one of the reasons why the inn was a beauty was the view of the sunrise ? Our view from the room was filled with a glorious, warm glow. It was before 5 AM and we decided to walk out onto the balcony and see the awe-inspiring sunrise. They always say, “You must see a Maine sunrise.” And you must!! Our room had a GREAT view and it was nice. One of the reasons why I chose Brown’s was because of their restaurant. But unfortunately, it was closed, due to Covid. The continental breakfast was alright, a homemade muffin with fruit. We ate outside, enjoying the beautiful morning. After we ate, we had gotten ourselves a (free! tour around the restaurant! We saw one of those old diving suits, “emergency drinking water” cans, and old ship paintings! Fun fact: Brown’s was a canning factory once! A few cons were the bathroom and the distance from the shops and restaurants. It was 10-15 minutes away, so it’s not that bad, but if you’re not really a walker, be prepared. Overall, it was a fine stay. When we thought we lost one, the staff were willing to help and find whatever we lost and maybe mail it to us. It was okay. Not really “the best” but a nice one. ratings: 4 for service 4 for location (beautiful sunrise, small walking distance from shops and restaurants 4 for sleep quality 4 for cleanliness 4 for value"
