"We visited 11/06/21: ALOHA! Welcome to the Tiki Terrace! The Tiki Terrace is a very entertaining place to visit! This is the closest to being in the islands that you can get without leaving the chicagoland area. We had our reservation which you can start by visiting their website. We got ther We at 4pm. The service staff is extremly polite and kind! You are automatically served water when you sit down. You are given 2 menus, one with appetizers and package options, the other one has their drinks listed. You automatically get the aloha dinner which is pulled pork, meatballs, and a bbq chicken. We opted for the couples package which included a lai for each person, and the following menu options (this is in addition to th aloha dinner). You get to choose either potstickers or pork eggrolls and taro chips. Having had taro many tines i had never had taro chips before, i was pleasantly surprised they were great and included a mango type salsa. For the drinks, our package included 2 drinks frim the drinks menu, plus another regillable sotdrink or tea as well. I got the original mai tai which was not too sweet and had a perfect taste. My girlfriend got the tiki mai tai which was a little bit sweeter and was good. We added an additional appetizer and got the coconut chicken sliders, you need to order these, they are delicious. The dinner is served family style on a bed of rice. Everything was delicious. When the show started it was around 5:15, and it was fun and interactive! You are transformed into a tour of the islands ranging from Hawaii, to Easter Island, to Fiji. The dancers change into different costumes based on what island is being represented. Since we were going there for my birthday i got called up on stage to learn a dance with a few other people that wss fun! This is a very entertaining place to visit, and very nicely decorated. When we were done and walking out it was about 6:15pm. I cant thank our kind server enough she was very pleasant and friendly and helpful by suggesting items that were her favorite. Over all i rate my experience a 20/10 and will definitely go back!"

"I loved this little mom and pop Hibachi place! I originally was in search of Japanese style cuisine. I knew of Benihana which to me is meh. And through research between Yelp and social media I heard a lot of the local community talking about Izumo. And the community rated this place really high for a local mom and pop kind of place. I had more time over winter break here to check this place out. First for you COVID conscious folks- indoor seating only. Yes precautions like staff wearing masks and sanitizer are provided/available. There are maybe 6 Hibachi grills, there's a sushi bar, and then general seating. When I was there, no one was in restaurant eating. I went the day before New Years Eve. I ordered takeout! Yes folks they accommodate takeout! I ordered the combo chicken and steak and requested fried rice in place of plain rice. The meal came with the soup and salad and shrimp appetizer as well. And I guess here the meal comes with hibachi vegetables, and some sort of noodle dish side- never had the noodles before but ok. Food was ready on time and smelled divine! I actually had to make another stop after my pickup, so it did sit in my car a bit before heading home. When I got home I was fully expecting the food to be cold. But everything held decent temperature! I got to enjoy the soup and then salad before diving into the entree and everything was still warm- no microwave necessary yet. Everything was so tasty! I loved the noodles. The veggies were on point and the fried rice was nicely fried. The meat was cooked to perfection. Portions were plentiful! I had some leftovers (yes! . I would choose this place over Benihana ANY DAY! Thank you for being that self owned and operated family place that's better than the corporate chain! You deserve the accolades! I will be back soon! If any of you ever think of going to the competitor, please take your business to this place instead! It's more than worth it!!"

"What happened? Did upper management change? Something happened, and it’s not good. Service was terrible. The Pho tasted different.-sat down, waited approx. 10minutes to get someone at our table. In that time we saw two tables get sat down, drink order/food order placed. Mind you this is after we hav long sat down.-finally a waiter came brought water and glasses and menus. Then left.-a different came and asked “so what can I get you all to eat so I can put the order in.”? we dismissed the tone, left it for open interpretation.-ordered crab Rangoon. The guy that brought the water brought the crab Rangoon and stated “oh by the way, we are out of sweet and sour sauce because restaurant depot didn’t have any.” Didn’t bother to offer any other alternative, just left.??‍-a third person came and dropped off the pho. Went back and grabbed the sprouts/lime/basil/cilantro-the food. The rangoons were flavorless. I never thought that would be possible. It was bland. Could taste the old oil, I guess that’s the season/flavoring. The pho was “ok”. Definitely not up to it’s standards of past various visits. Flavor was off and the noodles were cold in the middle of “noddle ball” so I let the broth warm it up a bit I guess, I don’t think that’s standard.-So after the pho was served that was the last interaction we had with the staff. They never came back and checked like other venues have. However the table behind us was checked on 2-3 times. The table behind my side at least once, but they had to get up and go to the bar for refills. Even the lady said to her guy “this section must be invisible” I chuckled.So….after this experience, for the money…..I will gladly take my money to the usual fast grab and go Chinese joint like Mei Zhen or Jade Garden. At least I know service will be fast and food will have flavor. Whoever is running this joint, is definitely running it into the ground. Very sad, it was a great thing when we found out that “Pho 79” was going to open at Hilltop years ago, and it was very good while it lasted. Not recommended. Take your hard earned money elsewhere."
