"We decided to sit at the bar for both food and drinks. The bartender was attentive, talented at crafting drinks, and very friendly. However, I found the food to be a bit on the expensive side. I usually don’t drink, but I thoroughly enjoyed the “two cents fancy” cocktail; it was bubbly, slightly sweet, and not at all bitter. My partner also tried two other drinks and liked them.
We ordered the cheese sandwich, bone marrow toast, and the Wilkinson for dessert. The cheese sandwich was served with fries and featured sharp cheese along with apple slices. The bone marrow toast was topped with a mix of parsley and shallots. While the bone marrow itself wasn’t as rich in flavor as I had anticipated, the shallot mixture provided the needed boost. The Wilkinson dessert consisted of fried dough balls accompanied by a rum caramel sauce that really should have come with a warning about how hot it was. Despite burning my tongue, it was tasty, though I’ve had better fritters in the past.
My favorite part of the night was the oysters. They were not overly salty and presented a delightful progression of flavors, beginning with a mild taste, moving to a more savory note, and finishing with a distinct seafood essence."
